And...the quote from the NY Times review:
But Mr. Esparza, whose parentage is Cuban, was the only one who infused the songs with a fiery theatrical intensity and nostril-flaring passion.

As some people know, I’m just the tiniest bit obsessive about screencapping.
Here are a few images from the commercial for Raul’s episode of Law & Order. He plays a blackmailer, here getting caught in the act:
He’s so little!
Nice and shifty-eyed

I wonder when they filmed this. He seemed in pretty good shape at BABALU.
L&O tends to shoot on a tight schedule, about four to six weeks before airdate. So I'd say this was shot in early December.

Law and Order tonight!
Watching now.
I think he looks great. Do we always have to keep such tabs on his weight?
I saw the Leap of Faith reading this week. I'm not going to say anything more because it's not my place, but I liked it a lot.
ok am I crazy or was Danny Burstein the judge? It looked exactly like him..
Yep, that's him. I saw his name in the credits and wondered who he'd be.

I liked this show but I don't regularly watch L&O so I don't know how it compares to other episodes. The writers certainly play fast and loose with prosecutorial procedure but it was fun to watch.

Wait, wait. Not to change the subject, but Leap of Faith Reading?!? Is this some sort of message board screwup, or was there actually a reading this week?
lol, yes, I just posted that tonight, not a screw-up.

Jason Kravits was the DA. It was like a Drowsy Chaperone reunion.
I AM ALDOLPHO.
... sorry.

Emcee - did you go both days?
No. There were several presentations over two days, but they were all the same. I just saw it once.
Luv, I'm soooo jealous. Soooooooooo.....
Anyway, just wanted the L&O. It was nice seeing him in so many scenes vs. that other L&O he was in.
A blogger's brief description of seeing the Leap of Faith reading here, about 3/4 way down the page:

Sutton Foster? I sure hope she plays Raul's sister and not the love interest.
She was Marva. It's a good part for her, honestly. Kendra Kassebaum played the sister. But who knows if this is The Cast or was just a group assembled for the reading. I mean I think we can assume Raul will stay with it because he's been with it for so long and he's said on the record that he plans to, but I don't know what to venture about the other cast members.

Seconding the intense jealousy...I would pretty much kill to see this. Any word on when it's actually opening on Broadway or out-of-town?
I don't know how much of what they said at the presentation was meant to be public knowledge, and I don't want to be personally responsible for getting it out there if it's not supposed to be, but it's happening in the fairly near future.
I'm so thrilled at today's NY Post. If this pans out, I know where I'm headed in the fall!
