It does seem that next season is very crowded, even though not everything will necessarily stay on track. But if HAIR transfers, and ROAD TRIP also transfers, I would rather LEAP wait till the dust clears -
Hair is a revival, so it wouldn't come into conflict with Leap of Faith. Maybe for acting awards, but if they keep this cast, I can't exactly see Jonathan Groff, adorable as he is, being a threat for awards if that's what you're worried about.
(Um, Road Show?) As for that, I think I'd be okay with it hypothetically stealing some of the spotlight from Leap of Faith, given the team behind it. But that's just me.
And honestly, I know we want Raul to win awards and to be in a show that wins best musical and all that, but wishing isn't for it to come in a season where the competition is crap kind of futile? I mean, doesn't it mean more to pull through in a really competitive season than to win a Tony because you had no viable competition?
Nothing to do with awards, actually. Just thinking competition for ticket dollars, if the economy keeps tanking.
Well, even then, I can't imagine that Hair and Leap of Faith would be competing all that strongly for the same audiences!
Except crazies like me who want to see everything!
Good heavens, there are more producers on this thing than there are cast and crew!
Maybe they just pooled their lunch money!
there are more producers on this thing than there are cast and crew!
Not exactly hard to do.
One of the most talented and sexiest men on Broadway today. I *love* Raul Esparza!
Broadway Star Joined: 12/9/06
Raúl's gonna be back at the Barrymore! Hurray!
Some comments from the IMDb page for 25/8, from someone who has read the script:
The first 20+ minutes seems to be R-rated, with bloody deaths and so forth.
The rest of the movie, feels like PG-13. Hardly any kills and a lot of "high school" behavior going on.
**Spoilers**
It felt like most of the movie was set in a high school day. We saw their classes, their breaks etc and then a few people die quickly and then the ending comes.
It felt like a PG-13 horror movie with a few cuss words here and there. The violence in the first 20 minutes is R-rated, for the rest...it was off-screen or PG-13.

The "first 20+ minutes" are, apparently, when/where Raúl's scenes in the film takes place. Sigh. For those of us who dislike horror movies, this is going to be tough. Although it does sound like maybe it won't be TOO bad. I mean, at least it isn't "Saw" or "Hostel"....
Hm. It'll be new to see Raul in something graphically horrifying.
And it will certainly be strange to see Raul back on the Barrymore stage, but calling someone else Bobby this time.
Is there any chance anyone on this site is going to the Westport thing in September? Would love yo know what everyone in that benefit performs!
Brief interview with Raúl in New York Magazine. It seems he's been taking a break from New York by vacationing at his parent's home in Miami!
Raúl Esparza, Always Grateful
*GASP*
::happy dance::
Lets hope (for my own fangirlish sake) that Raul will always need a pre-show vanilla latte.
Nice little article. Not quite wild about the lavender headshot however...
Aww. Lovely little article.
I don't think anyone considers staying with their parents a "vacation". That's more work than work itself.
Depends on the parents, but in Raúl's case, you're probably right. Oh well, at least he'll come home with a nice tan.
That's rather....generic.
But yay new picture! Clearly there was a photo shoot at some point - is it too much to hope we might get some additional pictures from that shoot?
I am still analyzing the picture placement. And doesn't Elisabeth Moss look lovely! I am glad to see Raul properly cleanly shaven after months of Lenny sideburns. Now Piven is the one with the five o'clock shadow. What is Piven's speaking voice like? Has he done theater?
I guess they might release a handful more at some point (like what they did for All My Sons), but I wouldn't expect too many. I can't imagine they'd release more than whatever gets used for artwork purposes. Raul looks adorable, but what else is new?
Jeremy has a pretty solid Chicago theater background, I think. I've just begun watching Entourage (my brother is obsessed with it and I felt it wrong to know Piven as "the guy from Serendipity"). I really like it. He's definitely well cast for the role in Speed-the-Plow.
Keen, you can hear him if you YouTube him. There are lots of clips. Here's his 2007 Emmy win: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zj9yAeU3gKs&feature=related
Ha, I've never watched "Entourage" so for me he is oficially still "that guy from Serendipity". One of my very first celeb spots ever was actually John Cusack and "that guy from Serendipity" on Mott Street in Little Italy. Oh, happy days! And many more to come with STP, I hope!
*excited!!*
So Jeremy and Raul both got started in Chicago - the new cradle of civilization.
