Love the picture, though. Stage placement and body language speaking volumes. I am so excited! Got a ticket for next Wednesday matinee - hooray!
I know the bitterness toward Jeremy makes it really easy to want to read into everything, but Neil has been around a LOT, giving a lot of notes, and some of the blocking has changed. I'm sure things are happier now, but still, that's all it is.
Looking forward to seeing Macy on Saturday.

I did only mean volumes about their Mamet characters as I haven't heard anything about them as colleagues.
ETA: Raul looks like he has his Lenny unshaven look back. Don't think that was as acceptable in the 1980's Hollywood as it is now. Interesting...

Actually it was very fashionable in the 80's. His Charlie may be working the Miami Vice look, with the three-day growth of stubble and no socks with the loafers. He seems to have skipped the pastel jacket and t-shirt, though. They (costume designer?) may have thought it would be a bit too distracting.
Visualize Raúl in a white suit with a fuchsia t-shirt...
By distracting, you must mean "hilarious."
That, too...

I noticed the no socks with the loafers right away. But isn't the third scene shirt a violet/grey shade - that's pretty close to pastel.
I have to admit I didn't notice the shirt. I was too busy trying to protect my eyes from the tie.
It's definitely pastel, but it's not a t-shirt.
I have a strange affection for that tie.

I think we all do! Wonder if he will auction it off for charity?
If anything like that were going to be auctioned, it'd probably have happened during BC/EFA fundraising.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. That boy needs a wife to dress him. (Um, you know what I mean. )
Wait, you know that's the costume, right?

LOVE IT!
Now *that* is just the cutest thing.
Oh, to have been a fly on the wall that night!
I think that happens all the time, the NYTimes just happened to witness it one night.

So, emcee, how was the play today?
Really great. Macy brings a totally different take to the role, and the dynamic of the entire play is different, but it works. He's a brilliant, brilliant actor. The age difference isn't a problem at all, it just makes you look at the characters in a different way. He's a sadder, subtler Bobby rather than the like... fired-up coke head thing that Jeremy and Norbert had done. And I had forgotten that he co-founded the Atlantic with Mamet.

Excellent news! Now I am even more excited about going on Wednesday.
They're probably being re-reviewed this week, so I'm sure they'll all be at the top of their game.
