Sigh. It had to be Orsino, I guess, even if he's one of the dullest characters in Shakespeare.
Well, if anyone can liven him up, it's Raúl!

This silly board is going nuts eating posts....
I am simply beside myself with glee.

Considering your excitement every time Raul reads a book on tape, I find this statement to be a bit odd. I'd rather he be performing Shakespeare onstage- even if it's what you believe to be a "dull" character- than do another audio of a book I couldn't care less about. I'm sure Raul himself would agree. Shakespeare in the Park is a better use of his talents than 30 hours reading in a recording booth. I know I've joked that I'd listen to him perform the phonebook, but come on.
And I'd take prestige over mainstream popularity any day.
I wouldn't care if he played Fortinbras in "Hamlet". It's Shakespeare. In the Park. I am thrilled!!
Lol. I do have some limits on excitement. Fortinbras would be like, "Really Raul? Did you even show up to your audition?"

I really was hoping for Feste, but I don't object to Raul in anything. And, if you haven't listened to Raul's audiobooks, try them. They are extraordinarily effective.

Shakespeare! FINALLY! *sighs*
Ah, I have a thing for Fortinbras since Rufus Sewell played him in Branagh's Hamlet.
I think now that it's set in, I'm even more excited than I was yesterday.
luvtheemcee, I know the feeling. Last night I pretty much decided we couldn't swing NY this summer, but this morning I'm finding myself really, really, really wanting to go.
Sigh. I suppose I should be grateful that since there's so much less than zero chance I could go that there's no point in even wishful thinking. No need for a decision at all.
I suppose I should be grateful....but I'm not. I really really hate what my life has come to.

I'm already thinking about buying camping supplies for this summer, cause I'm gonna get there mad early for this one.
I think my favorite thing about it is that with no financial guilt whatsoever, I can see it as many times as I want. Thank God for free tickets.

Congratulations to Raul for his OCC nomination. Kind of disappointed that N. Pepe didn't get a nod, but the OCC nominations are, as Madame Armfeldt would say, "peculiar."
They always seem kind of arbitrary. Good for Raul nonetheless, though.
I guess all awards seem kinda like that; arbitrary. I think the validation comes from consistency. As in, if he gets nominated for every award he's eligible for, THAT means almost more than just winning one of them.

More congratulations to Raul for his Drama League nomination -

I just feel like there is no surprises anymore when it comes to him and being nominated. They just sort of go hand in hand. And I am certainly not trying to lessen his work to any degree, or say the recognition isn't an honor. Just seems like he's in a completely different acting league than most people.

Posting to fix the screwed-up accent in header. It's been driving me NUTS! And I discovered that once fixed, it's fine until somebody updates their post. That's when it seems to get all screwy again. BWW is so weird.
Fascinating how these audio things keep surfacing:

Oh, wow. Very interesting indeed. I would love to hear this. I wonder if they will eventually get this at the library.
Actually, Raul Esparza is one of the few men who could get me to listen to the histories.
