re: The View Today...

Be careful Kelzama:

Unlike you, I know my FACTS.

1. Do you recall that initial discussion of the WMD threat from Hussein/Iraq began during the Clinton era?

Any responsible leader would be concerned with Nuclear technology being used anywhere in the world. This is why we have the International Atomic Energy Agency.

Now I'm not going to defend Clinton, but he was not in office when Bush invaded Iraq. No matter what Democrats were for or against, going to war was wrong and Bush lied. Bush is to blame. He is the "commander guy." At the end of the day he lied. He mislead our people.

2. Hussein killed hundreds of thousands in a single spree, many times over?

Ok, he was horrible. There is a genocide in Darfur, why aren't we there? George Bush authorized an illegal war based on lies, why is he still in power? He is a threat to national security and the world.

3. According to iraqbodycount.org, the current civilian death toll is somewhere between 65,000 to 70,000.

The people running that site are not on the ground Iraq. They base their "survey" on counts from the media. The Right and the Left in this country have criticized them for shoddy work. I wonder if the Christians are counting the babies of pregnant mothers? These numbers you show are ludicrous. When this occupation is over, it is going just be under 1 million.

4. Before you jump down my throat, I'm not saying that it's Clinton's fault, but Bush didn't invent the tale. He certainly took us to war based on that info, though.

He took us to war based on lies. More and more evidence is coming out that proves we were taken to war based on forged documents. There were no WMDs and Bush knew it. As did all of congress.

re: The View Today...

Anyone can post the clip of Trump trashing Elizabeth, whom I'd hardly call a TV "personality". She was on Survivor and then she got a gig on The View, but, it feels odd to call her a TV personality.

Anyways, Trump also said that Joy Behar has "no talent" when she made fun of him. And Behar replied "I know I have no talent"! LOL

re: The View Today...

May 25, 2007 -- ROSIE O'Donnell left "The View" with a bang, not a whimper, following her on-air smackdown with co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck on Wednesday.

Yesterday, Rosie's chief writer, Janette Barber, was allegedly escorted from the building after she was caught drawing moustaches on photographs of Hasselbeck that hang in the "View" studios.

The Post's Adam Buckman reports ABC confirmed in a statement only that "photographs at 'The View's' offices were defaced. Rosie O'Donnell was not in the building. ABC Legal and Human Resources are investigating the matter." Barber is an old friend of O'Donnell who worked with her years ago on "The Rosie O'Donnell Show."

There were also rumors O'Donnell was so angry after her argument with Hasselbeck that she trashed her dressing room, although ABC denied the tantrum.

Meanwhile, "The View" went on yesterday without O'Donnell, who was taking a previously planned day off to celebrate partner Kelli Carpenter's 40th birthday.

Hasselbeck - who had tangled with O'Donnell before about President Bush's handling of the Iraq war - was on the show with Joy Behar, Barbara Walters and guest host Kathy Griffin. The four discussed the blowup only briefly before switching topics.

As for O'Donnell, she's been posting comments on her personal Web site, rosie.com, fueling speculation she might not return to "The View" ever again. Her scheduled last day is Wednesday, June 20.

When one fan wrote, "Work isn't worth that battle," Rosie replied, "Agreed." Another wrote, "Please walk away. It's not worth it." Rosie replied, "Well, you know when it's time to go."

To a fan who asked when she would return, O'Donnell answered, "No idea."

Yesterday, O'Donnell posted a video that may have symbolized how she's feeling about "The View."

The tape consisted of ducks swimming in a pond accompanied by an audio track of the John Mayer song "Vultures," whose lyrics include "How will I hold my head to keep from going under?"

Officially, "The View" expects O'Donnell to return to work on Tuesday.

muscle, didn't Joy say "I know I have talent" after the Trump comment? Opposing what Trump had said?

Also if Janette did deface pictures, that is just sad.

re: The View Today...

I think Elizabi+ch made a really big mistake this week when she wouldn't say yes. Rosie can really make or break someone like that.

I really hate the way Joy reacts when Rosie gets accolades for reviving that horrible show. Joy is the loser that sat there with that stillborn for all those years. I do like that she has taken more of a political stance, but really that show is nothing without Rosie. I’m sure Joy has more fans as a direct result of Rosie.

It's official.

Rosie will not return.

re: The View Today...

I think Barbara should just cancel The View and give Joy her own little talk show. The View had a good run, but will never regain its reputation after this.

(well, that's my little opinion)

On a completely different note, did anyone catch that Padma Lakshmi from Top Chef on the show today? Seriously, watching her eat was one of the most sensual things I've ever seen in my life. Seriously. It was enough to turn me straight. Almost.

theaterdude87, her hubby is Salman Rushdie, who wrote that Satanic Verses book which caused Iran to basically call for his death. I wonder what ever happened to that. I also wonder who the hell he landed her.

re: The View Today...

Munk, I was just re-watching my tape, and Sherri wasn't really joking when she said that Clinton didn't sleep with an intern right after Joy read the list with all the disgraces that the current president has done. Watch it again, and you will see that. She also put down Al Gore, and questioned his ability as a politician. I hate her now, since I have a lot of respect for Clinton and Gore.

Kelzma "Mejust, way to pick and choose facts."

At least I am not pick and choosing lies. You can't cherry pick from unsubstantiated evidence and arbitrary data and think you have an accurate assessment of the matter.

Your facts and statements are incorrect.

re: The View Today...

Says you. My facts are straight, and are there for the reading. I readily admit that the bodycount site I cited is not a site I visit regularly or study. However, the web site you referred earlier to refute the site I used says it used a scientific sampling to arrive at 650K+ dead since occupation It went on to state coalition forces were responsible for a little over 30% of that total. It continued to suggest that they couldn't prove their estimates (interviewed 1800 people) but that we shouldn't question their findings.

You brought up Darfur. The situation is tragic beyond belief, but a nonsequitor to the particular argument.

The other statements I made are substantiated. Clinton's administration did believe WMDs in Iraq. . You read into them, tossed in a healthy dose of Bush bashing, and have been jumping down my throat now for several posts.

Lighten up, Francis.

re: The View Today...

I can't believe Ididn't see anything about The View today. Was Barbara stoned or what? She looked like she was on another planet and even mentioned something about being "zoned out" to Martha Stewart. Barbara totally slammed Kathy Griffin. Kathy, Joy, and Barbara all upstaged Martha Stewart who just seemed to want to get the hell out of there. Barbara didn't know what the hell to make of Ross the intern, who was hilarious and charming. Kathy really pushed the envelope with some of her one-liners. It was all very bizarre and entertaining.

re: The View Today...

Barbara wasn't the only one who looked stoned. I haven't seen a single episode of The View, for about 9 years or more, and I happened upon it today, and left it on for the first 15 minutes or so. It is unbearable, as it always has been. I simply cannot fathom why anyone would watch it. Barbara came off senile, and Kathy Griffin looks like an animatronics figure at Disney World. She's utterly joyless. She keeps sn*ing at her own remarks, and she never says anything that's amusing. Joy tries to infuse some humor, but they all talk over each other. The other one, whoever she is, just exists for the obvious purpose of not agreeing with the others. It's just unwatchable, imo.

re: The View Today...

Oh I am sooooooooooo glad I had today's episode on my DVR just so I could enjoy Barbara Walters suggesting that Sherri Shepherd try reading some Darwin and "get yourself some education, since you have a child" when Sherri ever so smugly announced that she does not "believe in evolution," like it's fricking Santa Clause.

When she repeated it, "why don't you try reading it, dear" and Sherri said, "I can do that," it was clear that, well, she probably can't and most likely won't be getting that coveted Big Early Star Jones seat on the panel next season.

I never watch this show but I happened to see it this morning. Wow. When Barbara asked Sherri if she had ever read any Darwin after she said "I don't believe in evolution" and she said no...I almost died. And Elizabeth's intelligent design rant was hilarity.

I disliked Sherri since that Rosie incident. Well, to be honest, I never liked her just because she was in "Everybody Loves Raymond."
