Ummm....how the hell did Leah NOT make it into the top 3 on American Idol tonight?

Someone want to explain this to me? I knew Latoya was going to be one of the 2, but I thought Leah was going to be the second one. Not Amy. And I especially didn't think the guy (Sorry forgot his name) should have been voted for instead of Leah. So someone explain why?

The guy probably got the "He's so cute" vote, plus he has a unique voice. Amy has the cute girl with pink hair. She seems really nice and genuine, so I'm sure that's why people voted for her. I would have had a hard time voting on last night's contestants

I know I'm cynical-I don't believe that the results they show on tv are accurate. Don't even start me with the Ruben/Clay thing!

I don't want this to come off as me sounding defensive...I remember in season 1, I think it was Tamyra who the judges loved, and she got voted off. Why would they do that? I'm very curious, b/c it never occured to me they fixed votes on the show.

Don't worry, it's only my opinion that they don't accurately report the votes. I think they decide who will win, but that's just me.

Now that I have watched the results--ahem--I am happy with the two that went through. Leah didn't do it for me, but she prob did deserve 3rd. It wasn't really Amy's best (song choice I think), but she really impressed me earlier in the season. I think she has much potential. Latoya just plain out rocked the place! Jon is absolutely adorable (and so was his brother), but wow was he stiff or what?

I have to say, I also laugh when people disagree with Simon. I think he is *usually* on the money.

I thought that boy was dreary, no presence, no weight as a peformer. (Sorry, Jrb; I think he's sort of an asexual Paul Rudd, without the charm.) I have always tended to trust the voting, but it was strange last night. I found myself wondering if they wanted 3 girls up there... Hmmm. You could see Leah's stun, which was painful. I didn't like her style -- that Mariah thing again -- but she was clearly levels above the guy. Let the debating here begin!

I agree-the guy was like a robot who opened his mouth and an unusual voice came out. No show-ability.

The girl who cried when she didn't win-I remember her saying her parents were both rock stars and musicians, so it's in her blood. Well, it may be in her blood, but it wasn't in her voice, lol!

I also agree that there are already too many girls in the finals, so they put that guy in.

Is Amy ever going to do something other than her Celine Dion impression? Same voice and her mannerisms are the same. Whyt not just be done with it and sing 'My Heart Will Go On?' Very disappointing choice.

I would've picked the hot blonde dancer girl before her.

It should have been Leah, though.

Remember, the votes are based on the public calling in... If one of the contestants has the means, they can get their entire family to rally and have people call in over and over again to cast their votes...

Since I missed the show tuesday and only watched the vote-off, i have to say that i was VERY unimpressed with Latoya's voice..

I don't think in a situation where 13 million votes were cast that one person rallying their parents behind them will sway the electorate. It's a popularity contest, to be sure, but I think, for better or for worse, this is what The People want. Although I have noticed that the strong people tend to get better camera angles than the weaker people and I just don't think it's a coincidence.

that's true... i spoke before thinking... but i think that if the parents can rally their families and friends, and keep calling in the whole time the phone lines are open, they can make a difference... add this into those who are truly voting for a person because they liked the performance...

I'm not sure it matters how many people call in and vote. Who checks on the results? Where is proof provided that the votes are accurately counted and reported? We just take their word for it. Do you really believe that Ruben Studdard received more votes than Clay?

Ruben was plusgood, Clay was plusgood. No one this is year is plusgood.

I couldn't believe that the "Pen salesman" was in the final 3! Leah will most likely be back with the wild card. If the "football guy" can go through, it's definitely not fixed. He was terrible (but then that whole week was baaaadddd)
With regard to the whole Clay/Ruben thing, Clay has the last laugh. No one talks about Ruben, his CD didn't do as well as Clay's, and Clay is touring with Kelli Clarkson, not Ruben!
AI is my favorite guilty pleasure in a long time!

Yes. Clay lost by a small margin. Get over it =)

No, really, I just don't get why people can't let the whole Clay/Ruben thing go. I love both guys, and they BOTH have good cd's out, so, why complain? Clay is getting more attention because he's more "upbeat" and talkative, and Ruben is just very mellow and laid back and is very much an average guy, which means he doesn't make a very interesting person to interview.
By the way, both cd's have been selling very well, so don't delude yourself into thinking Clays sales surpassed Rubens by this huge margin.

With regards to last night ,I liked Amy more than Leah. Its funny how all the guys suck this season, where as last season, there were very few talented girls. I'm willing to bet right now that the next AI is a woman =D
