I agree, Kate was great on Weekend Update. I was laughing out loud. Bill Burr seems like a decent actor.....

I had no clue who he was until I looked him up. I would pay to see his stand-up act. I still have yet to see the movie he did with Davidson but it is on my list. (Oh, and Davidson's quip about his film not being in theaters was hysterical)
This was the perfect SNL show for me. They went for it. (I even gasped then laughed a few times) It had that SNL edge and the musical act complimented the show. I needed a good laugh tonight!
I’m sorry - y’all thought that was funny?
Has like half the cast not been used for the past 2 weeks? Especially last night there seemed to be many of them who didn't even make it to screen.

I don't think I have seen Aidy in a live sketch, so far, this season. It does seem like they haven't been using the full cast and that might be their choice or to keep social distancing.

Aidy played her pre-teen travel reviewer character during Weekend Update last week (she wore a tankini to church)
Alex Moffat is adorable when he plays Eric Trump. Drinking the hand sanitizer was hilarious.
I don't like Jim Carrey as Biden, and I don't understand why the show is portraying him as a senile old coot. I get that it's comedy, and that SNL is an equal-opportunity offender, but, at this point, basically reducing Joe Biden to being the lesser of two evils in the election is pretty infuriating. Also, during Weekend Update, Michael Che said he isn't a good candidate. For the life of me, I can't think of a reason why someone who clearly wants Biden to win would say that on national TV, 17 days before the election.
I miss Cecily strong.
It seems Carrey lacks respect for the person he is playing so it comes off like a cartoon. And in playing him like a doddering old man the timing seems to be off. When Sudeikus played him there was more warmth.
Anyone else think they gotta do another “save broadway” skit?? Seems like a good opportunity to bring #saveourstages into the limelight
They should have had Kate play the Supreme Court nominee as a wide eyed robot.

She cohosted Weekend Update with Seth Meyers during his last year on the show. She cohosted with Colin Jost for the rest of that season, then Michael Che took over the following season.

No, she's still on, but she's been almost completely absent.
Strong has been in the opening cast credits. I think Carey should lay off doing Biden until after the election since he is not doing him any favors.
Bump.
Baldwin had some very funny lines in the final debate parody.
I find it interesting that there hasn't been more talk about this past weekend's show.
Chappelle's monologue was brilliant and there were a few sketches that said a lot (The girlfriend sketch and the Uncle Ben sketch). The Foo Fighters delivered a killer version of "Times Like These".
It was, in my opinion, a very solid show.

I had recorded it but then the time was off due to either a game or Biden and Harris holding their winners rally. And then it takes a day or two to appear on demand so I have not watched it yet.

It started late due to the Notre Dame game going into overtime. After the game, NBC did a very short news broadcast and then SNL came on. It appears that SNL held the show.
This was the game where all of the Notre Dame fans/students rushed the field at the end. I was watching since I was waiting for SNL and I was like "That's not good".
The Outdoor Duplex Cabaret sketch (12-5-20) was precious. Cecily was doing a combination of Garland and Stritch and Bowen was reminiscent of Martin Short. If Bateman has pushed it a little further and been quicker with his cues, it would have been an A plus. I am sure it flew over a few people’s heads. The Spider-Man line was very cute. Nice to have Strong back.

I was on a call for a lot of the show but noticed Bowen was back and in a few sketches. I love him. Going to watch the whole thing today as I taped it.
About 15 seconds into that hot mess of testifying by Cerone last week, Cecily Strong came immediately to mind. Evidently she came to SNL's also. I was able to catch bits and it seemed that the audience they had did not see the testimony and did not make the connection with Strong's "Girl You Wish You Hadn't Started A Conversation With At A Party" character.
As happy as I am that Cecily is back, I thought Melissa Carone was funnier in real life than she was portrayed in the skit.

I mean, the real life Carone had already crossed over from real person into caricature during that hearing, so there wasn't really room for Strong and the writers to do much more than an imitation.
“I’ve got two big ol’ comorbidititties” is the funniest thing that’s been said on SNL in years.
