For any of you out there who've wondered where I've been and what happened to my Musicals Coming to Los Angeles, I'm taking an extended break from Broadway World.com. It had become truly painful for me to see so much nastiness, so much insensitivity on this board. I tried always to be polite to others who post here, and respectful to them. I have received insensitivity and sarcasm in response. Some of my posts (mostly those critical of closted gay performers) may have been controversial, but they came from my heart and from deep feelings that I hold, and did not merit the kind of meanness that I received in response. But it's not just "personal." When I saw the joke after joke in response to the news of James Barbour's potentially career/life destroying arrest, I knew that I could not longer be comfortable as part of this site. I feel bad that thoughtless and cruel posters, who hide behind anonymous screen names and avatars, have affected those at BWW who relied on my postings about Los Angeles theater and my Musicals Coming to Los Angeles webpage. For those who want to know what's happening in L.A. theater, I recommend theatermania.com's website. The link is below. For the forseeable future, I do not wish to be associated with a site where people feel free to denegrate their fellow posters as a sad number of you out there do. Knowing that even this thread may bring out the nasties, I won't be returning to see the responses. I'm not that much of a masochist.
Take care everyone.

I guess you have to do what you feel is necessary. I, for one, didn't notice that you were gone.
"I'm not that much of a masochist."
Well, that's comforting. Good luck!

I for one will miss you very much, even more so now that you have taken the time to inform us that you are gone. Like you, my posts are often controversial and, if I recall correctly, a couple of them may have displeased you. But they came from my heart and from deep feelings that I hold.
A,MF

But wait, the door is left open for a sequel! Remember, he wrote, "For the forseeable future, I do not wish to be associated with a site...." Emphasis mine.
OMG, I'm so excited. Anybody know when elsgr9 is coming out? I hope it's a trilogy! Do you think you'll have to have seen eslgr8 to understand the sequels?
I don't think we're going to have to wait very long. Perhaps a titch longer than D"How can we say goodbye if you never left?"Grant's fare-thee-well.
I haven't had any dealings with this poster at all, but what is the point of a "goodbye" thread that you're not going to read? Do you think you're so important to this board that you have to announce your departure or we'll all be devastated unless you proclaim your reasons?
The banal thread might have been better suited.
Im sorry people were so mean to you... Im sad I wont see you here again

I don't think I was ever introduced to a so called eslgr8. Therefore, I cannot miss him.
understand them? now why would you want to spoil the fun trying to uderstand them? building a cult-like mythology around them with an emphasis on a utopian society in which youth is loved and cherished, maybe, but understanding them?
Is insensitivity the new hurtfulness?
Shut up, Calvin.

Calvin... where did you get your quote from? It's such a sin.
Who likes Marie Osmond anyway? Ew. I remember when Donny did Dreamcoat. I didn't see it live, but I could never watch the entire video in one sitting.
omg, calvin! that was just so mean! it's obvious that your cruelty has driven eslgr8 from the warm heaving bosom of bww's love like an uncle caught taking art photos. shame on you. the entire bww community is watching.

You never get anything, Captain_Oblivious.
I miss Steven Stanley. And never had the chance to ask him if he's related to KISS's starchild, Paul Stanley.
Hey, I always use my real name when denengrating my fellow posters.
Don't lump me in with those other anonymous bastards.

You rule, John.
I use my real name too, just in reverse.
Tell you what, we coulda had a good life together! F*CKin' real good life! Had us a place of our own. But you didn't want it, Stephen! So what we got now is Broadway World! Everything's built on that! That's all we got, boy, ****in' all. So I hope you know that, even if you don't never know the rest! You count the damn few times we have been together in nearly two years and you measure the short ****ing leash you keep me on - and then you ask me about James Barbour and tell me you'll kill me for saying somethin'! I'm not you... You are too much for me Stephen, you sonofawhoreson bitch! I wish I knew how to quit you.

Brava! Brava, Sueleen! Bouquets, bouquets, bouquets!
I have to say, knowing now that my hideous nature has cost us to lose a poster of the highest order like eslgr8 and that my hideous nature has caused immeasurable harm to the millions and millions of fans who need eslgr8 to give them vital information about the Los Angeles theater scene, well, all I can do is apologize to the best of my ability, and promise, nay, VOW to make the Broadwayworld a better place from here on in.

Actually, I am eslgr8, and eslgr8 is me. Thus allowing me to beat my own record by actually being back before I even left.
I'm just thankful that I don't have to look at that bad rug again.
