Why eslgr8 no longer posts here and why my webpage has disappeared.

For any of you out there who've wondered where I've been and what happened to my Musicals Coming to Los Angeles, I'm taking an extended break from Broadway World.com. It had become truly painful for me to see so much nastiness, so much insensitivity on this board. I tried always to be polite to others who post here, and respectful to them. I have received insensitivity and sarcasm in response. Some of my posts (mostly those critical of closted gay performers) may have been controversial, but they came from my heart and from deep feelings that I hold, and did not merit the kind of meanness that I received in response. But it's not just "personal." When I saw the joke after joke in response to the news of James Barbour's potentially career/life destroying arrest, I knew that I could not longer be comfortable as part of this site. I feel bad that thoughtless and cruel posters, who hide behind anonymous screen names and avatars, have affected those at BWW who relied on my postings about Los Angeles theater and my Musicals Coming to Los Angeles webpage. For those who want to know what's happening in L.A. theater, I recommend theatermania.com's website. The link is below. For the forseeable future, I do not wish to be associated with a site where people feel free to denegrate their fellow posters as a sad number of you out there do. Knowing that even this thread may bring out the nasties, I won't be returning to see the responses. I'm not that much of a masochist.

I for one will miss you very much, even more so now that you have taken the time to inform us that you are gone. Like you, my posts are often controversial and, if I recall correctly, a couple of them may have displeased you. But they came from my heart and from deep feelings that I hold.

OMG, I'm so excited. Anybody know when elsgr9 is coming out? I hope it's a trilogy! Do you think you'll have to have seen eslgr8 to understand the sequels?

I haven't had any dealings with this poster at all, but what is the point of a "goodbye" thread that you're not going to read? Do you think you're so important to this board that you have to announce your departure or we'll all be devastated unless you proclaim your reasons?

The banal thread might have been better suited.

understand them? now why would you want to spoil the fun trying to uderstand them? building a cult-like mythology around them with an emphasis on a utopian society in which youth is loved and cherished, maybe, but understanding them?

I have to say, knowing now that my hideous nature has cost us to lose a poster of the highest order like eslgr8 and that my hideous nature has caused immeasurable harm to the millions and millions of fans who need eslgr8 to give them vital information about the Los Angeles theater scene, well, all I can do is apologize to the best of my ability, and promise, nay, VOW to make the Broadwayworld a better place from here on in.
