My most-played songs on iTunes that are not showtunes are: "The Weight" by The Band, "Birdhouse in Your Soul" by They Might Be Giants, and "Piece of My Heart" sung by Janis Joplin. Though I've got a soft spot for Rufus Wainwright's cover of "Hallelujah", and for "American Pie".

For me these days it's Don't Dream It's Over. Stunning song. Crowded House's is the best, but don't laugh, Susan Boyle takes a different approach and it's also beautiful.

Well, I have an issue with this. I loved the song Dancing Queen before Mamma Mia! came out. But, that technically makes it a theater song. But, I guess if it's by ABBA or the cover b the A*Teens that was out before the show.
