Yea I was being sarcstic. But in a playful way.
Who's next on the The List?
Ryan (I'm "dating" Jules Hough) Seacrest?
Thomas Dekker?
Rick Perry?

Interesting factoid: Matt Bomer went to Carnegie Mellon with Zachary Quinto and went to the same high school as Lee Pace. Bomer is friends with both of them.
Bomer has gone to awards shows with his husband but has been pretty mum in terms of outright stating it.

Yup, the glass closet paradox. Most people know, you're not exactly hiding it, but you've never outright said it. It would be great for Pace and Bomer to follow Quinto's example and maybe touch some lives. And I'm sure it would be great for Bomer's kids if he acknowledged their co-parent.

I honestly don't think Seacrest is gay. He may be the biggest metrosexual out there, but an acquaintance was at a party with him years ago and he was all over her. Unless it was all for show ...
I thought Bomer was out - and that he has kids with his partner/husband?
#13Zachary Quinto Comes Out
Posted: 10/16/11 at 4:41pmBomer is not out. He's acknowledged his children but not his partner. He's side-stepped the question in interviews.

"It would be great for Pace and Bomer to follow Quinto's example and maybe touch some lives."
It would be great if they were welcomed into it, instead of facing some form of derision and scornful disdain - some of which you can see right here in this thread for Mr. Quinto.
I can't imagine why others don't leap at the opportunity.

Posted: 10/16/11 at 7:28pmI think a big factor of them not coming out is fear of losing their careers.

Cooper seems to be trying to Lily Tomlin-ize his way into the subject, i.e. wait til he's 55 and say "oh, but I assumed everyone knew for years; I never hid it." Technically, that's true. He doesn't beard himself for events. He does the "my private life is private" thing. For a guy who's done so much to help the "Its gets better" anti-bullying cause, he's failed to do the one thing that would mean more than wall-to-wall reporting: just say "take me, for example."
Isn't the shot photoshopped?

I don't think the first shot is photoshopped. This one definitely isn't.
I was glad that Quinto spoke about making an "It Gets Better" video a year prior to coming out. He seems to have realized that it was a somewhat empty gesture if he wasn't out himself, as he notes in his blog: "it became clear to me in an instant that living a gay life without publicly acknowledging it - is simply not enough to make any significant contribution to the immense work that lies ahead on the road to complete equality."

I'll be curious to see what happens with Sean Maher now that "Playboy Club" tanked. He was on an ascending curve - now what?
Obviously, since it's apparently no big thing or risk, I'm assuming all the gays in Hollywood will be falling all over themselves to give him work.

Posted: 10/16/11 at 8:17pmTo be fair, Sean ascending curve lasted about three weeks. If anything, it might help open some doors career-wise. In Zach's case, it'll definitely be interesting to see where his career goes - since he's much more in demand - after he finishes with Star Trek next year.

Posted: 10/16/11 at 9:25pmI don't know AC's reasoning, but why can't we take his "my private life is private" line at face value?

I'm sorry but I still don't understand why people here and just about everywhere for that matter insist that a famous person who is gay must publicly come out?
Coming out is a very personal decision and I can only imagine that many celebrities are very much out among friends/family, but don't necessarily feel the need to share their lives with the public. Just look at how Zach's "coming out" has been spun just on this thread - imagine how the homophobes react. There's nothing wrong with publicly coming out (in many cases I agree it benefits the gay community) but let's all try to be a bit more supportive of personal decisions and the gay community.
