Between Donald Trump's short fingers and Bernie Sanders's endlessly waving fingers, this is certainly an election that's all about the finger.
HRC is the most qualified, competent person to run for the White House in my memory. So for Sanders, or whoever becomes the GOP nominee, to "mansplain" things to her will put off a lot of voters.
And to add to his answer about the "ghetto", he also said that white people dont know what it's like to be poor. WTF
Sanders has done a lot of good in his lifetime. But, I gotta be honest, if I were a registered Democrat sitting on the fence still, my vote would clearly go to Hillary warts and all, after tonight's debate in Flint. A huge block of Trump's supporters is made up of disaffected whites who feel that the government has turned a deaf ear to them and who feel that the American dream is quickly escaping them. Bernie's tone toward Hillary was dismissive and his incessant class warfare is somewhat off-putting to me personally. I do find shared sacrifices reasonable but will never support a candidate who seeks to penalize me for what meager success I've been able to achieve in my lifetime. What do we cut from your treasured entitlement programs (and farm subsidies), Bernie?

There's too much happening and too many ways to make issues seem like they overlap when they don't. Bernie said white people don't know what it's like to be poor? Easy for a Jewish man to say. (I KID! I'M KIDDING!!!). And there are disaffected white men who are just now feeling that the American Dream is dead? Well, that's sorta separate! I mean, the whole point is that the American Dream doesn't EXIST. I really did think Arthur Miller settled this back with Death of A Salesman. Then again, the Supreme Court settled Roe v. Wade back when my Nana was a tween.
I don't know how any of you guys watch these things. I gave up on debates years ago because I end up hating even the candidates I like. Which is what TV networks count on so they can sell us more products to soothe ourselves and stretch out the "drama" when the campaigns aren't actually close to being horse races.
Is there ANY chance people could check themselves before lighting Hillary effigies to see maybe if they are tapping into their misogyny? No? She's a see you next Tuesday?? Okay.
Let's have a look-see at what separates Hillary from Bernie regarding farm subsidies which is practically a non-issue in primaries...but just wait until the general election.

Why won't Hillary release her Wall Street speeches?
Jordan Catalano said: "And to add to his answer about the "ghetto", he also said that white people dont know what it's like to be poor. WTF"
That's not what he said. He said white people don't know what it's like to be poor and live in communities affected by institutional racism and police brutality.
He said -
"When you're white you don't know what it's like to live in a ghetto. You don't know what it's like to be poor."
Namo, you don't understand, so many people hate her.
"Why won't Hillary release her Wall Street speeches?"
Probably the same reason that Trump isn't going to authorize the release of the portion of audio of remarks he made off the record to the NYT editorial board. See http://publiceditor.blogs.nytimes.com/2016/03/02/trumps-off-the-record-remarks-new-york-times-went-public/
Hillary as a private citizen was as entitled as I to earn a living. I don't know the terms of any contract she might have entered with the banks or any other industry segment as a paid speaker. Last I checked corporations, including merchant banks and investment banks alike, are considered persons under the 14th amendment of the US constitution. And on 1/21/2010, the SCOTUS ruled in CITIZENS UNITED v. FEDERAL ELECTION COMMISSION that then extant federal laws abridging the rights of non-profit corporations and unions to make independent expenditures for communications in support of or in opposition to any candidate in a partisan election were UNLAWFUL. At the heart of the matter was whether a non-profit was permitted to run an independent documentary film that was a hatchet job on none other than Hillary Rodham Clinton herself.
As much as I dislike that SCOTUS ruling, you and I can form a non-profit and bankroll a hit piece in print media or televised attack ads on Trump without the consent of his rivals if we so desire, as long as we make the required disclosures. And conversely, even now candidate Hillary is permitted to speak before any donor or potential supporter including the KKK; let her conscience be her guide.
Not to put too fine a point on it or anything, but someone of Hillary's stature can certainly pull in top dollar on the speaker's circuit in private life. I'm uncomfortable vilifying anyone for earning a living. I'm still smh at the fact that Noam Chomsky's liberal bonafides have also been called into question by haters of free enterprise. See http://www.hoover.org/research/noam-chomsky-closet-capitalist Time is money.
I don't know about Bernie Sanders's family, but in my Jewish family, if a cranky old Jewish man shakes his finger in a woman's face and tells her to Shut up, he spends the night sleeping on the couch.
When the discussion turned to guns, Sanders basically recited NRA doctrine in defense of some of his votes. That won't sit well with many liberals.
The biggest mistake of his life was voting for the bill to help the munition s industry avoid lawsuits.
The second biggest mistake of his life was defending it last night.
Or maybe the biggest mistake of his life was implying hat all black people live in ghettos.
Or maybe...
@madbrian, I actually found his remarks about guns worse than his waffling during the whole race/ghetto/poverty debacle that Don Lemon is largely responsible for. My dad took me hunting as a kid a million years ago but I could live with a repeal of the 2nd amendment however unlikely. Bernie knows that a call for a repeal of the 2nd amendment would have doomed his candidacy before it even took off. He's playing politics with that one. It would probably get him voted out of the Senate in 2018 by his constituency back in VT if he's still interested in holding onto the seat.
It's not just about the lawsuits. Sanders also voted against research into gun violence.
Do you suppose Sanders interrupting Clinton and then telling her to "Please be quiet, I'm talking!" while waving a finger in her face when she tried to interject was his Rick Lazio moment? At least where Michigan is concerned?
Yes and yes...Hillary's surrogates are on it during press rounds this morning.
ETA: Bernie has larger problems in MI, like an 18% African-American population there that makes up a huge chunk of his party's base. At stake are 147 delegates for Democrats. Some polls have Bernie trailing by as much as 30 points ahead of tomorrow's primary.
No, Jordan is not accurate. Here's what Sanders said in context:
"I was with young people active in the Black Lives Matter movement. A young lady comes up to me and she says, you don't understand what police do in certain black communities. You don't understand the degree to which we are terrorized, and I'm not just talking about the horrible shootings that we have seen, which have got to end and we've got to hold police officers accountable, I'm just talking about every day activities where police officers are bullying people.
So to answer your question, I would say, and I think it's similar to what the secretary said, when you're white, you don't know what it's like to be living in a ghetto. You don't know what it's like to be poor. You don't know what it's like to be hassled when you walk down the street or you get dragged out of a car."
"...when you're white, you don't know what it's like to be living in a ghetto. You don't know what it's like to be poor."
That's the sound byte that the Trump/Cruz teams and the GOP superPACs will run with should he somehow seal the party nomination. It's just that cut-and-dried.
Erik, he conflates race and class, and if you cannot see that it a big deal, then your blinders may need to be loosened. That was followed by his person in the spin room saying that Clinton is only a regional candidate - i.e,, she only wins among the largely black populations. Both were missteps, and hopefully are not reflective of the candidate.

You've sung this song 3,000 times already.
Calling HRC a regional candidate is absurd. She has won in Massachusetts, Nevada, Texas, and across the south.

He's not winning Michigan anyway. A couple of polls have him down by at least 30 points. The reality will probably be a little closer, and I expect she'll win by around 20 points there.
