I definitely believe in God, the Eternal Father, and in His Son, Jesus Christ, and in the Holy Ghost.
Yep. I most assuredly do.
However, I realize others have the right to worship who/however they choose.

I believe in a universal higher power, doesn't necessarily have to be God or Buddha or the Pope, but my philosophy is that all religions have different names for a same being. Although I was raised as a Christian.

ABSOLUTELY!!!
Reading this thread reminds me of a quote from Stephen King's "The Stand." I won't get it exactly right, but the old woman somewhere says something like, "Honey. It don't matter if you believe in God or not. He's still God."
Ah I just read that book...brilliant

I believe as well. God is full of grace and mercy and His love endures forever. Don't let people tell you otherwise!!
However, I respect all religions as long as they promote goodness and peace to all humanity.

I belive there is a 'higher power', and I believe in Evolution.
But I DO NOT believe in the concept of Religon. I do not need to live by the rules of something that could be totally made up. I live life by my own rules, of what I learn from my mistakes.
I do pray though, because like I said I believe there is a God who's done something to create this planet and life of mine. So I pray for the protection of my loved ones and myself.
I hate judgmental people, some of my friends who are Christians turned me off of Christianity, and my father. So I don't believe in that anymore.
But God, yes, Faith, yes, Evolution, yes, Religon, NO.

I'm an Insomniac Agnostic Dyslexic - I stay up all night wondering whether there really is a Dog.
No, I do not. I think it's an absurd notion.
I absolutely do. I even believe in Jesus as the son of God. I also believe VERY few people/religions are following in Jesus' footsteps in a pure fashion.
What bugs me about Catholosism is that in the Bible, God tells the people "Worship no idols" or even "Worship me". (Basically, the most egotistical character in the whole book) Yet, Catholics worship the Saints...and even Mary. Who the hell is Mary? She only birthed Jesus...That would be like putting Bin Laden's mother to death for birthing Bin Laden.
Back to my point...Isn't worshipping Saints and Mary not following the laws of God?
*points to her above post* I just explained that Catholics don't worship saints.
Then why, in St. Patrick's Cathedral are ther a whole bunch of Saints made of Gold?
And god is not a name...We do not capatalize when we speak of the mythological gods and godesses, as they have the same name of the Biblical caharcter. His real name is Yaweh.
Actually, a little point I LOVE about the history of the Judeo-Christian God is that Yawheh was a part of the pantheon of gods of the area (Babylonian gods?). Anyway, it's always interested me that this God (since we do consider this his name, yes, capitalize it) says not to worship other gods before him yet no one seems to believe in the existance of other gods.
I can't wait to talk to him myself someday, face to face.
Having a statue of someone doesn't mean you worship them. Do you worship statues of Abraham Lincoln? Its just a statue, you don't worship it. You worship God. A saint is a holy person but not in any way ever taught to be a God.
But Lincoln is not made of Gold...and people are not praying in front of him, the way they do in that greedy, money hungry cathedral.
First of all, I already explained about praying to a saint. Second of all, what does it matter to you what it is or isn't made of? No one is making you sit there and look at it or kneel before it or whatever you think they're doing.
Hey guess what, if you don't like it, don't go there. It's really simple.
What I don't like about it is that the Church is using the poor people's money (The same people who depend on them to help them in their time of need) to build gold statues and giant Cathedrals.
And I don't go there...cuz everytime I have stepped foot in that place, I am angered by the gullibility of the tourists...or shall I say "shoppers"

I'm a Christian. I believe in God and in Jesus as the Son of God. People are free to believe what they wish ... I just know that for me, there have been times in my life that I don't think I could have gotten through without the comfort and peace of God's Spirit being with me. That comment may resonate with some reading this, and with others, it won't, but that's where I'm coming from. I try to be a good person, don't always succeed at that, but I think that's a better "witness" than being pushy about my faith. A friend of my husband's and I once described me to his then girlfriend (who I hadn't met) this way: "Barb is very religious, but she's not obnoxious about it." I took that as a compliment.
Having an issue with the use of funds by Church officials is not the same with having an issue with the beliefs of the people.
Really, Bluemoon? Where do you work?
In all seriousness, my answer is Yes.
bythesword...it all boils down to the gullibility factor...
