Saw this in an early incarnation out in L.A. - and it was extremely funny. I think Drew Droege is an about-to-break-out comedic talent. I'm not sure if it will follow in Oh, Mary's footsteps - but I wouldn't rule it out. Interested to see how it has evolved.

I’m planning on buying a ticket and, even if it sucks, I’ll get to drool over Zane Phillips for a spell and that is time well spent. Droege is a great queer alt-comic though so I have high hopes

When I saw that Zane is now in the cast, I'm not sure what noise I made - but I'm sure it was embarrassing.

Do you remember the run time for the show? I'd imagine it would be short - hopefully around 90 minutes, no intermission?
I'm in town for a week in November. My schedule is pretty full already, but if it's short, I could squeeze in a Saturday 5pm show.
Thanks.

Zane is a pretty face. Nothing more. He’ll bore you to tears. Won’t see this unless it’s papered which it probably will be

Okay? For someone who is clearly trying to hustle for a competing off-Broadway show (“Saturday Church”), one would think you would be a little less blatant in your putdowns of other performers and shows. It’s not cute.
I’m seeing Saturday Church on Thursday and, for all I know, that could play out like a crappy episode of POSE and this play could be the funniest thing since OH, MARY. We won’t know until they open, now will we?
Kindly slink back to your corner since your half-cocked shade throwing is neither desired nor required.

And you know it’s just America’s Sweetheart, SuttonRoss hiding behind yet another one of her aliases, right?
You are literally the most odious prick on this board. Equal parts annoying liberal elite and condescending “anti woke” a$$hole. PLEASE stop reprimanding people who disagree with you, it’s noxious.

Sure thing Sutton, girl. We’re not stupid. We know your exact posting style, and this is it. Now make sure to report everything, Sutton. Your downfall is extremely entertaining to behold.
I miss African Queen1
Quiz: looking forward to your opinion after Saturday's performance.
Yeah for his opinion on Saturday Church. Nobody gives a $hit about his opinion on messy white gays

Whatever you say Sutton.
I think Drew Droege is an about-to-break-out comedic talent.
Well, he’s been at it since around 1995, so he’s been an “about-to-break-out” comedic talent for about 30 years now. Constantly working yet that break-out has eluded him. Just like Sam Pancake, Jack Plotnick, and other “about-to-break-out” comedic talents.

Pedro Pascal finally “broke out” after many years of hoofing it. Not sure what your point is.

Now THERE’S the Sutton we all know and love!
Also, I see you’re sticking with your narrative of impersonating a black woman? Okee-dokee!
Is the play a parody/spoof of "Rope"? It sounds like it.
Sorry to interrupt the hand-fan snapping...

When I saw the first reading I thought the allusion to ROPE was intentional... I'd call it an homage, since the specifics are so extremely different. It doesn't really comment on the film as I recall, so I wouldn't call it a parody. The conceit is there, though - the hidden body (not a spoiler - it's in their ads), gay central characters, outsiders being introduced into the problem....
