I’ve been thinking Chant would be a good Hadestown number. It features all five of the leads and introduces many of the themes of the show. I also love the way that number is structured.

However wouldn’t be surprised if it was a medley of Living it Up and Wait for Me

what an absolutely ridiculous comment. Wait For Me is the catchiest and most attractive melody from the show- you can see them showcasing it highly in their advertising-- and giving Reeve/Eva the chance to sing this is about MARKETING. As if the producers of this show are busy worrying about the actors' feelings and not selling tickets.... get real.

I keep hoping that THE PROM will do "Unruly Heart" at the Tony Awards. Perhaps they'd prefer to do some sort of medley so they can also feature their other Tony Award nominated performers, but I just think that "Unruly Heart" shows off the tremendous heart of the show.

Sometimes solos are better. They certainly televise better. Medleys are almost always disastrous.
My top 3 favorite Tony performances of the last decade were solos:
- Ring of Keys (Fun Home)
- Omar sharif (band’s visit)
- whatever that Lisa Howard song is called from Shoulda Been You (that was a GREAT performance from a show with no noms at all)

I think it would be a mistake for Beetlejuice to do the opening number, if only because they did it on GMA and Lydia isn't in it. I hope it's at least the ending of Banana Boat, when Lydia finally summons him - "IT'S SHOWTIME!" - into That Beautiful Sound.

I wouldn't mind a "You Happened" and Unruly Heart melody from The Prom. Just please god no more "Its Times To Dance"

Wait for Me will make for a very good performance, but I got to say, I really would’ve preferred something highlighting Patrick Page or Amber Gray. It would’ve been nice to let the only cast members who’ve been there for every incarnation of the show get the spotlight. Even putting aside seniority, the two of them are, in my opinion, the best part of the show. Why We Build the Wall would’ve let Page lead a showstopper while still having Gray front and center throughout the while song, and Way Down Hadestown would’ve let Gray lead a showstopper (alongside André De Shields) that’s all about Page, where he also has a fantastic entrance. However, Wait for Me is another showstopper, and even though it’s not what I wanted, I know it’ll be great.

Styles reported that SHE (as in Styles herself) is performing. Just as O'hara has confirmed that she (as in O'hara herself) will NOT be but will be doing their introduction.

Could they be doing Bianca?

The Prom should perform their curtain call (kidding...sort of). IMO, it's the most joyous thing on Broadway right now.

I completely agree that solos actually televise better. And as evidence, I though BAND'S VISIT last year had the best performance of the night by far. And that's why I was shocked to hear David Yazbeck in an interview on a podcast say they had to fight CBS tooth and nail to let them do that number. Yazbeck believed it was the best number to showcase the show but CBS didn't want them to do it. 

I guess it's not so surprising given how many shows to big medleys now; clearly that's what CBS prefers. But it's a shame, as it fails most shows.

Kelli posted pictures on her social media on the bus in costume with her cast and onstage at Radio City so it is confirmed she's performing. I believe it's a medley of So In Love, Tom Dick or Harry, and Too Darn Hot. I saw Stephanie Styles in her costume for that number so I'm just guessing.

I’m not sure which number Hadestown is doing, but I can confirm that Reeve, Eva, Amber, Andre And Patrick were all in full costume, so I’m thinking Way Down Hadestown. Tho it could be a Livin it Up on Too into Way Down medley....

Wait for Me is almost definitely at least a part of Hadestown's Tony performance, because one of the ensemble members posted on Instagram a photo including a swinging light.

Bianca had amazing choreography, but I’d be very upset if they don’t show off Too Darn Hot. It was a compete and total showstopper

You know... I adore The Prom so much. I just got tickets to see it again in September. But it is absolutely beyond me why they are ignoring the entire hilarious Broadway snob storylines in their marketing, especially with Beth & Brooks' nominations. The kids' numbers are entertaining and all, but it's the Tony Awards and they didn't take the opportunity to do one of the songs that's full of theatre jokes, like It's Not About Me?? I wish them all the best, and I genuinely hope to eat my words later after a fab performance, but I can't say I understand the decision-making. I don't think people really get what this show is.
