It's going to be a national tour in the US kicking off at Paper Mill Playhouse in NJ. So you could easily take a day trip or half day trip from NYC.
Here is the official website with tour stops: https://aidathemusical.com
It's consistent with all the other Disney On Broadway tour sites.

No need to start planning. It's premiering at Papermill in Feb. 2021, then touring for a year. It won't be on Broadway until Fall 2022 the earliest.

I can't wait to see this at Paper Mill next year!

Interesting I hadn't even thought about this coming to Broadway. I'm still waiting for Tom Schumacher to provide an update on the Beauty and the Beast revival he mentioned a few months back.

She says a lot of things. Doesn’t make it true.
don’t get your news from “influencers”.

The production that played over in Europe last year was poorly received. Lots of edits on the original that didn't go over well. It needs to be workshopped again and given another out-of-town tryout.

WTF is Katherine Quinn, and why should we believe her?
And yes I did Google "Katherine Quinn" and there are hundreds of them...

Look up Katherine Quinn on YouTube. She posts videos about working on broadway. I like her and her content. She’s worked on Shucked, How to dance in Ohio, paper mill Gatsby, and is working on other broadway shows this spring.

I remember her only because when the rumors were going around about an Audra Gypsy she said she wanted a RENEE RAPP LOUISE. Wh*te w*men can’t decenter themselves from anything for a moment.
What “work” has she done for these shows for me to believe she has DISNEY LEVEL insider access?

From her website:
“Katharine served as Writing Associate to Tony Winner Robert Horn on the book of the new musical, Shucked, on Broadway. She is currently Writing Assistant and Social Media Consultant on The Great Gatsby at Paper Mill Playhouse. She assisted choreographer Chase Brock on Hercules at The Public Theater, served as SDCF Fellow to choreographer Denis Jones on the Broadway production of Tootsie, and has directed and choreographed award winning regional productions across the country.”
So, definitely not just an influencer as GottaGetAGimmick420 alluded to…

Every review you read of the original says some form of "go see Heather Headley in this really bad show" so let's hope they can get someone with spark, not just someone who can hit the notes.

Feel like a broken record suggesting her, but Joy Woods is the answer.

I don’t know how anyone can say Aida is a bad show. Saw it five times with Heather and everytime it got better and it was magical. The books is great. I don’t know how it could be improved ?

They should be announcing their next season in a couple months

The original has plenty of flaws. The book scenes are weak in spots. The two numbers for Radames' Father are terrible. But Schele Williams has altered the original to the point of making it garbage. The opening number has been eliminated and Aida is apparently the villain now? If this is on Papermill's lineup, they can just add this to their growing pile of flops.

PLEASE keep Schele Williams far away from directing a Broadway revival of Aida, her production in Europe was atrocious. Why does she keep getting high profile directing jobs??

This past weekend I was at Spamalot and lo and behold sitting directly in front of me was Schele Williams. At intermission I went up to her and briefly she chatted. We discussed Aida, and she said it’s going to London first, since it’s never played there before and that way Elton John can tinker with it and attend more rehearsals, and then if it’s well received, will transfer to Broadway. She also said Broadway likely wouldn’t be until Spring 2026…

Glad to hear they'll have more time to work on it. Hoping intensely that they reinstate the opening number and other aspects of the original... Based on reports from The Netherlands the most recent iteration wouldn't even really feel like seeing Aida.

If her work on the incoming THE WIZ revival is any indication, I would have NO interest in seeing an AIDA directed by Williams. And I adored the original production (minus the aforementioned Father numbers).

I absolutely love and adore Aida. Since years I am listening to this music. The story is great. Ive seen a German Regional Production once but never the Original ( Except a lot of bootlegs haha). Last year I was in the Netherlands for my Birthday and I booked a Ticket to see this Revival and was so excited. It was awful! Nothing is left from this Aida that I loved so dearly. The whole opening Number is cut, the scenes are kind of in a different order, the songs and orchestrations are different and not in a good way, My strongest suit is such a weird version. Its slower and it sounded almost like a different Melodie. Or maybe its just a different rhythm. "Not me" is not a Quartet anymore. Either it was only Radames singing or maybe Aida joined in at some point, not sure anymore. The whole beginning part of the first Elaborate Lives is sung by Aida now. It was also an odd key. This was normally my favorite Song but it had absolutely no Power. Also I found the Role Aida (not the actress) very unsympathetic. And you should like the Lead Role and route and feel for her. I was sooo dissapointed and frustrated that I decided to leave in intermission. I think it was for the best because otherwise I would have been more frustrated. Aida together with Beauty and the Beast are the Productions I am mostly looking forward to see on Broadway again. But not this Production. No thank you.
