Hi, everyone. Sorry for pimpin' this show incessantly, but it's a benefit for a really good cause, and where else will you see big name actors and writers taking this kind of risk? Here is the latest list:
CHEYENNE JACKSON, AMANDA PEET, ROSIE PEREZ, ALAN TUDYK, KATE BURTON, ADAM PASCAL, WILSON HEREDIA, TRACIE THOMS, RACHEL DRATCH, CADY HUFFMAN, KATHRYN ERBE, ANTHONY MACKIE, BEN SHENKMAN, ELIZABETH BERKLEY, ALLY SHEEDY, ASHLIE ATKINSON, CHARLOTTE D'AMBOISE, MARY STURART MASTERSON, WILLIAN SADLER and ANDRE ROYO*
and playwrights:
Warren Lieght, Greg Kotis, Dael Orlandersmith and David Lindsay-Abaire. Directors include: Christopher Ashley, Maria Mileaf and Indhu Rubasingham.
For those of you who might not be familiar with The 24 Hour Plays, it consists of 6 playrights each writing a 10-minute play overnight. The next morning the cast arrives and has the day to rehearse, get off book, learn blocking, and tech the show before the curtain goes up at 8pm. Check out http://www.24hourplays.com for more info.
100% of the ticket price (less ticketing fees) goes to Working Playground, an NYC-based arts education charity. The money will support programs to bring arts instruction to under-served NYC shcools and to develop a new program for students displaced by Hurricane Katrina. http://www.workingplayground.org for more info.
Tickets ($125) are on sale at: http://www.smarttix.com/show.aspx?showcode=24H1
And here's my question to you guys: What would the NYC-based students on this board be able to afford for a student ticket to this show? We would love to make the evening accessible to students, but it's a benefit, and we need to raise as much money as possible. So knowing that the lower the student price is, the fewer seats we will reserve (and the lower your change of landing one), what is a realistic price?
*(due to the nature of The 24 Hour Plays and of celebrity, people are always dropping in and out the "scheduled to appear "list)

Considering that this is a benifit I, as a student, am willing to pay more money. However, I also am going to college in NYC and thus have hardly any money. I would probably say $40-$60 depending on seat location. Also, you could sell the obstructed view tickets to students for cheap prices, most of us don't care about the seats.
EDIT- Also you could do Student Standing Room tickets.
I wish I could go---to late to get off work! I would blow a bit of my entertainment budget to go!

So, we are working on a student rush policy!
As much as we'd like to reserve a certain number for advance sales (and we're working on that), we will def. be able to put unsold tickets on sale the evening of the performance with a valid student ID.
Thanks for all the PM'ed feedback, folks. I'll post the reduced price as soon as it is made public.
I still can't believe Adam's going to do a straight play. I... I...
oh, good luck, Adam! <3
hooraaaaay student rush!!
It will be great to see the wonderful Erbe doing something other than standing behind Vincent D'Onofrio. Anyone see her mini tour-de-force on OZ a couple of seasons ago?

Any fans of Mr. Jackson on this board? :)
Here's what Kevin Spacey said about the challenge that Cheyenne just signed on for:
“Theatre doesn't get any more live than The 24 Hour Plays - or any more frightening. But the pure excitement of pulling off this extraordinary feat is utterly thrilling for participants and audience alike.”
This just becomes more and more perplexing....
I think I'm going to need to get my hands on one of those student tickets, for sure.
Oh....Kate Burton. Hmmm....I wonder if I can get out of work early...
WAIT....JULIANNE MOORE WAS IN IT ONE YEAR?! DID ANYONE SEE HER?!!
Emcee, we'll have to do some teamwork on this one!
Maybe I should camp out!
Maybe you should get me a ticket or save me a place in line if you camp out!

Wilson Heredia is in now, too! Three Renters, with hopes of a fourth to come!

liotte, if I do go, it won't be until about five. I have a full day of classes. Anyone want to go in my place?
Did I miss the date for this somewhere?
10/24.
At night? Like an 8:00 show?
Can I join the tag team? My last class on Monday ends at 2:15...there prob wouldn't be much traffic, so I could hopefully get down at like 3, 3:30.
Something like that -- 7:45, maybe.
The nice thing about the last-minute thing is that if someone drops out, we'll know about it before we have tickets.
What time do you think we would need to get there to get tickets?
I have class until 2:50 and I can always skip chior just this once.
I can make it to the show, but will have to work til about 6:45, so I can't get down there early to get tickets. Emcee, you gotta help me out!
Someone better go to this and post ridiculously detailed reviews for the rest of us, because this sounds like it's gonna be amazing. Any hopes for a DVD release?
See, that's why we need me to go. So I can post ridiculous details.
*gets jar*
I think I should collect funds for the cause of detail-reporting.
Do you play an instrument? That seems to work out rather well for those guys in the subway stations.
Actually, I do!
*sets out*
