However 54 Below totalled screwed up the presale. They'll never do that again. It's crazy to offer a presale on a venue with 150 seats. Just stick to regular on sale dates and every man for themselves.
A friend of mine just said that it might have been TicketWeb, not 54 Below, that releases all of the tickets. And I think that the problem was not doing a presale, the problem was that they alerted everyone on the internet that there WOULD be a presale and Aaron fans, sign up! I just don't think they were prepared for how large and rabid (and nasty) his fans would be.
When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain.

My friend and I were hoping to get into the 5/10 show, and I started trying to put in the promo code before 9am, and by 5 after 9 (I'm in CA) all the tickets were gone. I think 54 Below handled it the best they could, but it was still kind of a mess.
According to 54 below the presale was the LAST of the tickets. I was at the box office yesterday and the general manager had told me that they would do the presale today and another general onsale to the public on friday.
I don't understand the reasoning behind just selling to the presale people
I have a call in to the general manager to get the real story of what's going on

"What's going on" is that the 54 Below staff has never dealt with this kind of demand before, wasn't prepared for it, and has dealt with it the best they could. Because there were problems with the first presale and it sold out before many fans had a chance to try, the club tried to make it right by adding two more shows to an already packed concert schedule, AND releasing the rest of the general sale tickets in another presale so that the upset fans had another shot. These tickets sold out in minutes. Now there are truly no tickets left, but they tried their best to give his fans the best shot possible.
Because it is a small venue and his fans are crazy, this means that unfortunately, many people were still shut out. That's the way things go sometimes.
You can stop posting a million accusatory questions to their Facebook page and calling the club, demanding to speak to the person in charge now.

"THDavis, those seem to be some pretty high marks you're giving to a person you claim hasn't sold you on his talent."
I'm not saying he isn't talented. I'm simply stating that I feel people talk him up more than he ever actually delivers. People often argue the same about LuPone or Ripley, both of whom I'm a big fan of. It's a matter of opinion, not a science.
@THDavis -- And what did he do to make you think that he is cocky and a tool at the stage door? Because every time I met him he was nothing but humble and kind.
So did anyone successfully get tickets? I'm another one who got through to select tickets but repeatedly got an error message :/ Pretty bummed--it's been so long since I've heard his voice live! And such a beautiful venue. But agreed with everyone saying that it's probably going to be full of screaming fangirls...
What happens with returned tickets to 54 Below? Do they ever release extras?
Is this likely to get recorded a la some other 54 Below shows, such as the ones by Norbert Leo Butz and Patti LuPone?
I'm a huge fan of Tveit. I thought he (along with Butz) was stunning in CATCH ME IF YOU CAN. He had a glorious voice along with heaps of charisma and stage presence. He also seemed like a really nice guy at the stage door afterwards, and he seemed genuinely touched about my positive remarks regarding the show and his performance in particular. He was also a standout in the LES MIS film.
I got two tickets the first day they were available. Their e-mail for the presale didn't go out when it was supposed to so I was checking twitter and tumblr to see if anyone else had issues and saw the released code, got them no problem, thought it all went really smoothly otherwise... until I saw that Facebook page and how angry everyone else was. Sheesh.
54 Below told someone on the phone that they had 10,000 people subscribe to their e-mail list after announcing these shows. Ha?
