Cal Ripken stopped impressing me when he started extending the streak even though it was hurting his team. Selfish selfish selfish, though on a purely physical level the feat does still impress.

gravity87...actually...in my opinion shoshana was better than idina...she really made me feel for her character. also when idina played it opposite kristin i thought kristin upstaged her...and elphaba should be the even bigger role...it is about her...i mean its called wicked.
Anyone know how good of an attendance record Barrett Foa has while he's been Princeton/Rod?

Jennifer Laura Thompson had fantasic attendance in Urinetown and Footloose. I blame her absences in Wicked on the fact that she has a little kid, and b/c all those germ facory Wicked fans crowd her night after night and spread their germs to her.
Sutton Foster had a great attendance record in "Millie", and I think she also will with "Little Women".
I heard Sutton misses A LOT in Little Women...
She missed a few days when she was sick (Maureen I believe was out around the same time too), and when Sutton got back into the show, her understudy got sick. Then she missed when she went to the opening night of "Spamalot".

During Kristen's run in Wicked how many performances did she miss? I don't think it was many.

Sutton Foster did not have great attendance in MILLIE. She missed a lot of performances.

Sutton's record was great for the first year and half she was in Millie. Then, she obviously got bored with it. It happens. And she's been sick quite a bit since Little Women has opened, unfortunately.
And I from what I remember, Kristin was out often during the last few months of her Wicked run. Not Donna Murphy-style, mind you, but still significant absenses. I remember being worried I'd miss her since she had been missing lately. Plus, she had several other engagements coinciding with her run in Wicked.

Um... boyfriend or no boyfriend...don't you think it's awful for a performer to miss a performance of a show they're contracted to do... just so they can attend a performance of another show? I.E. the previously mentioned Sutton Foster. Wasn't there a time when performers actually considered it important they perform? I know I'm gonna get the line that when you go to see a show you pay to see the show and not a performer... but... I can't help that there where at least a handful of girls desperate to see their idol in Little Women who were either to young or niave to realize they should call the box office to see if the star billed above the tittle had made other plans for the evening. I can't help but think that the handful of girls was simply devestated (things have a slightly more dramatic edge when you're a young girl in love with broadway) that they missed Ms. Foster. I can't help but think that a few of that handful may not live in New York and were not able to re-schedule when it's more comfortable for the paid performers. I think being in this business, a performer would have a bit more respect for the people who buy the tickets. No? I'm ranting and it's late but... it's such an awful feeling having that little slip of paper fall out of your playbill...(I know sometimes you may see an amazing understudy which ends up being better than the-so-called star... but that doesn't mean you aren't disapointed for half of the first act) I would just think a true star would make every effort not to disapoint their fans in that way. I know sometimes it is absolutely required a performer miss... and they should be able to... but missing a show so you can see another show (that will... let's be honest... outrun your own show)... that's pretty sad. In my opinion. Alright... bash away,
KC
I don't want to start a debate over whether or not Sutton should have missed a performance for "Spamalot", but since KJ brought it up I thought I'd go on a rant of my own. Performing is Sutton's job, just as your's is your's. The only difference is not many people are going to be disappointed when you are unable to get to work. When Sutton went to "Spamalot" it was to see her boyfriend in something that was important to him, just as if you were to miss work for a family member's wedding or if they were in a Broadway show. I think she is entitled to that, and considering her attendance in "Millie" was great, (she was in it for nearly 2 years, and for the majority of that time, she had a great record) I expect the same shall be in her run with "Little Women".
As for her other missed performances in "Little Women", she was sick, and has since had great attendance.

Hows Barrett Foa's attendance record since he's been Princeton/Rod?

I'm still not convinced it is excusable to miss a performance to attend the opening of another show - family member or spouse or partner in it or not. And if one is attending just for the sake of going to the opening, then I am even less swayed.
On the other hand, if you're doing 7 or 8 shows a week, when ARE you doing to see the other shows on the street? (If I'm working on a show, the last thing I'd want to do on vacation would be theater-going)
I agree,it would be inexcuseable if it were just to be at the opening of a show. However, this was an important event in a family member's life, and I believe it was a pre-scheduled absence for Sutton.

Barrett's only missed 2 performances, the second of which was right after he did his concert at the Duplex, so between 8 shows a week and rehearsing, and then performing his concert, he was a little exhausted.
