I just watched the two parts yesterday (Saturday) from Row B Center, which was actually the fourth row.
I'm a little shorter than you and I thought it was PERFECT. Like someone had said-- if the actor is flat on the ground, you miss a little bit but that is nothing compared to what you get for being so up close.

The stage is a bit high so I think B up to maybe E are best for 'intimacy.' So your row 5-6 would be C and D which I think are still great. I don't think you lose much from 4th to 6th row other than the general sense that 'closer is better.' C and D may be more level with the stage so you'll get to really see the stage as a whole while still seeing the spit spewing from the actors.

And 100% center. Blocking is good in that there are bits that take place stage right/left so you're not 'disadvantaged' by being off to one side (I think) but, especially if you're up close, I liked the equidistant aspect of the center.

I sat in row T of the rear mezzanine, towards the center and I don't believe I missed a thing. The sound was not great up there but I got an assistive hearing device for part 2 and that helped a lot. I paid $99 for each part ($198 total not including fees, which were ridiculous). I paid pre-Tony nominations so that might have an effect.

I sat row A, dead center. I loved it. I'm 5'8" with a longer torso and my eyes were literally at the level of the stage. If I sat up perfectly straight, I could see "above" the stage, but sitting comfortably still allowed me to never feel like I was missing anything. There was absolutely zero neck strain from looking up, nor side-to-side. I can't recommend those seats enough.

Just want to say that thanks to this thread, I had switched my tickets from mid-mezzanine (I think Row H) to Orchestra Row A, pretty much dead center. I only knew the very basic themes of the show and nothing of the plot, and as a musician I'm admittedly way more drawn to musicals than plays... so I was trusting the reviews and hoping that spending all of that extra money was worth it!

Well I saw Part 1 last night, and holy sh!t. What a show. Thank you, thread, for talking me into the switch! I have no doubt that it's enjoyable from my original seat, but sitting in Row A center was next level. Cannot wait for Part 2 tonight! I've always enjoyed Andrew Garfield, but had no idea he could act like that. Just incredible.

I’m slightly driving myself crazy over not buying my tickets yet for Angels in America. It’s the only one of my eight shows for my June trip that I don’t have tickets for, yet.

I put off buying tickets because it is frequently listed on TKTS right now and my preferred seats are pricey, but I’m now convinced it will likely win several Tony Awards including best revival and then demand will increase. On the other hand, many serious theater goers have likely already seen it and may not return again post-Tonys as it is a serious time commitment which is the same reason the casual summer tourists won’t attend either.

From what I’ve read, closer up is awesome for this show. I really want to be in the first few rows of Orchestra. Currently, that’ll cost over $500 for both parts. I am really not in a position at this moment to pay that, but will be hopefully soon if I need to be. I’ll be attending both parts on a marathon Wednesday (6/20).

I do note that there is a Row A Right Orchestra Seat 10 available for $99 per part ($198 sub-total plus services fees). However, it is listed as Obstructed View. Similar seats listed on house left.

1) Anyone know how obstructed?

2) One of my other questions is concerning Orchestra legroom for non-aisle or non-front row seats.

3) My last question is regarding some confusion I have about which side is closer to Prior’s scenes. I thought I read that house right was better for those while someone else in this thread stated house left, I think.

I’ve been told to watch to see what happens to ticket demand post-Tony Awards and if demand increases, buy. If it doesn’t, wait for TKTS. Good advice, but since I only have that one day available for both parts and there are not many front Orchestra seats still available, I’m wondering.

I greatly appreciate any helpful advice.

in Millennium Approaches, most of Prior's scenes are house right. With A10 I believe that you would miss too much (or at least more than *I* would want to miss) - particularly scenes where he's in his bed. Also the scene with the "prior Priors" happens pretty far to the right, and also I believe when he's at his dressing table putting on makeup.

I think the problem of sitting front row is the cross over scenes. You really lose the stage image that I personally find incredibly powerful from the view of row C center. I think row C is a little too far for my taste, so maybe row A or B would be the best seats to get the whole picture of the show without losing the intimacy that is so important for the philosophical ambles in Perestroika to be more than just poetic.

Thanks. That is very helpful. I think I know what Seat I want now. It is helpful to hear from a tall person, too! Hopefully the seat is still available when money from one of my last three work contract jobs deposits.

repeating what I said earlier, I'd go with BB6 if you want the extra legroom. But if you're going with A110 for the evening show and think the legroom there is good, then go with A4 for the matinee.

Came here to see if last min Orch S seats were any good ($25) for tonight, got distracted and went back to check price range for closer seats and the Orch S seats went down to $6! Craziness.

I need to get ticket for tonight's show. Does anyone know if the Lottery tickets are usually good or should I try and do TKTS and get center orchestra? app says they're 50% off and there are a bunch of seats for tonight.
