So glad to hear these praises for the front row. Will be sitting there on the left aisle. It just seemed like too good a deal, especially with the row behind it jumping up $150.

Is it common for those front row prices to drop closer to the show? BB on the sides is available when I want to see it, but they’re showing as $498 premium tickets. (If that’s the case, I’d spend the same amount of money for Row A Center since there’s one single seat available there too.) But what am I missing that you're seeing front row for $150 less than what’s behind it?
I paid $198 with a code for Row F mezz, and quality-of-show-wise it sounds like I won’t regret switching to sit up close, but I’ve never spent close to $500 on a show. That sounds so crazy to me, though I’m tempted after hearing how special this production is. I just wish it wasn’t so painfully expensive!
Judy, I bought my front row ticket in February for my June dates. Row AA was $338 and Row BB was $498 (so actually $160 higher). I do believe a majority of the Row AA seats have sold already. I haven’t been keeping track of any price drops, so maybe someone else can answer that for you.

If it helps, don't think of it as $500 for one show, does $250 each for two separate shows make it sound better?
Also, having that extra leg room in the front row made a big difference since it's a long day. I'm only 5'5" but being able to stretch my legs out was a big selling point to me to splurge on that extra $$.

Thinking of it as $250/show is definitely better, but I’ve also never spent $250 on a show before, let alone twice in two days, haha. ($210 for Hello Dolly was my highest.) That said... I worry that if I stay in mid-mezzanine for this I’ll really regret not sitting closer. It won’t be worth that $198 at all if I feel like I’m not engaged. I’m really leaning towards that Row A dead center seat (which won’t have legroom, but I’m short so that’s not so much an issue).
And that makes sense that it was specifically Row AA that’s less expensive - you’re right that it looks like those are sold out.
Ugh. I’ll be near Times Square today so I’m so tempted to stop in and drop an extra $300. I somehow have never seen the play or miniseries, don’t really know the plot details, and knowing what an exceptional production this is... I feel like it’ll be worth it for my first Angels experience. Why not. I can skip out on Starbucks for the next six months, haha.

Remember to check StubHub, especially if you have any flexibility in your schedule. That's where we bought our row AA tickets, and with taxes & fees, they were $162 per person for both parts, which was less than the cost of the face value of the tickets for just one part. I realize this was likely just a great deal and lucky timing on our part, but I think it's hard to resell for this show because it's an all-day commitment, so people who have to sell at the last minute are doing so at good prices.
edit: I mean, I realize in your case that'd be difficult because you already have tickets (and so did I, and I didn't get face value reselling them), but this is more as a general FYI.
I got a Ticketmaster email stating that tickets for July are going onsale tomorrow? It's for one particular set of dates but I'm guess they're extending a few weeks.

Just checked Ticketmaster and the dates they have up that will be going onsale tomorrow at July 12th/13th and 14th. Must be a mistake that it was put up, but this seems like it’ll be a two week extension.
Sm33, did you see the show Saturday, April 28? I noticed those reasonable AA seats and was very tempted. My friend won the lotto so we bought those seats, which ended up being in Row N in the mezzanine. The sight line was fine, but I did look at the people in the first row with a little bit of envy. You did great!
I saw the 'marathon' on a Saturday from Row L (14th row I guess), and then went back 3 weeks later and saw Part 2 from Row BB (AA wasn't available). It was a completely different experience - there is nothing like seeing this production and this cast from so close up. I'm trying to figure out how to get back again. BB was perfect, I can't imagine AA was any less perfect

I posted on one of the angels threads a week or so ago about my experience - I had gone for rush but got there after they ran out, and was instead offered a discounted full-view non-rush seat for $198. I took it and it hurt my bank account but I never regretted it for such a beautiful show, and when I got there, the seat was AMAZING. Anyway. I'm posting again because I just checked ticketmaster, and..............
They gave me a HUGE discount. The women at the box office said it was good, but I never imagined it was THAT good. I paid $198 for Orch G 7. That exact seat is listed online for $700. I got it for $502 dollars cheaper.....I am shocked.
If you live in the area and can play with what day you go, I seriously recommend waiting. The discount sounded like a pretty standard out-of-rush but not-sold-out offer. It was a premium, gorgeous, full view seat. As a student I could never justify 700. To sit there was such an amazing opportunity and I'd do it again (and am considering it...). I don't know much about the rush/lotto seats other than some are far away and others are partial view. If you're planning on rushing anyway/okay with a last minute decision, seriously consider spending a bit more if you are able - it is a ridiculous deal and SO worth it. I haven't seen much else posted on here about these discounts so I just wanted to share.

Yep, we saw it Saturday! I was really surprised that someone else didn't snatch up those tickets before I did. It's good to hear the sight lines from the mezz weren't bad, because if I get the chance to see it again before it closes (which I'd like to do), I will more than likely be up there.
I have a question concerning StubHub--For Saturday May 12th they have tickets available in center Orchestra which look great. My question is for the price they list am i getting tickets to BOTH Parts for the price they list. They say 170.00--is that for both parts or do i have to double it to 340.00? the Heading lists Parts 1 and 2 but then it only lists the start time at 1:00pm for Part 1 and nothing about the starting time for part 2--so it makes me not so sure.. I know this has been answered but i am still not clear concerning stubhub. Ticketmaster i understand but not stubhub--and is it possible that someone would be selling tickets at about the same price on stubhub as what you can get it at box office. Hope this is clear and thanks for any information.

sm33, please correct me if I'm wrong!
There are some great deals for AiA on StubHub, even considering the fees, if you buy the day before or even closer to curtain time."
Thanks for clarifying that. I am surprised at the deals. they have the Row C seats which are usually Premium 700.00 for 170.00 Is that possible? 170.00 for both parts? it is hard to believe.
JudyDenmark said: "I’m seeing it in a couple of weeks, andused a discount code formezzanine row F dead center. After reading this thread... is it worth spending double themoney to see it from up close in the front of the orchestra??Am I going to regret seeing it from “far away”?
(Also... I assume the box office will happily allow you to exchange tickets if you’re spending more money. But please correct me if I’m wrong.)
Edit: at themoment there’s a seat in row A dead center one week later. I’m so tempted. Someone please talk me out of this, haha."
I sat row A, dead center, two weeks ago and I would never trade that seat for anything. It was *just* at the height where my eyeline was completely even with the stage (note that I do have a long torso, but don't usually sit fully-straight so as not to block everyone behind me). I saw every singe facial expression and every single tear. It only took basically a flick of my eyes to go from stage left to stage right so I never had an overly-stiff neck. My mom and I bought those tickets last October and spent a pretty penny on them and despite losing my job a week after splurging on those tickets (because, of course), I'd buy them again in a heartbeat.
Ok. I have just bought on Stubhub a AA row seat for Saturday May 12th for both Parts for 170.00. Has anyone else got such a deal? Part of me fears it can't be true, but the other part feels like i got the greatest deal. I saw Part 1 on Easter and loved the show, and knew i had to see both parts. Is this too good to be true? This is half the price of a standard ticket for both parts. Anyone else with such a story? cant imagine why it would be sold at this cost.

Thank you for the validation! I just switched my ticket... and while the premium price is giving me heart palpitations, I feel like this is a show where it'll be worth it. Very excited to see it from Row A, seat 108!
(And I hope things are better for you on the job front. Gotta love that kind of timing.)

Thanks! Things are looking up on the job front, but yeah... we were afraid we were going to have to use the ticket insurance we bought (for $1,000 total, we figured this might be one not to take chances with). Glad we stuck it out because it was our favorite trip yet.
You will absolutely not regret switching to that seat. I feel like I went through something with the actors, at that range. After the second night, I got back to our hotel and was just sad that I wasn't going back a third night in a row. If I could see it again, I would (well, I bought tickets to the Berkeley show for the day after my birthday which just happens to be the final performance, but it's not REALLY the same, haha). I even ended up with an empty seat to my left and an empty seat in front of me so it was seriously the best vantage point I've probably ever had, and the perfect show for that to be so. ENJOY!!!

I got an even better price this past weekend, and was incredibly worried that the tickets would be fake or for just one of the parts or something, but they were not!

Thanks for responding. I am so excited to see this show. And i imagine it is hard to sell both parts on stub hub because it is such a time commitment. weekly grosses are at 85% so there may not be as big a demand. In any case, i am thrilled with the price and will be in row AA in a couple weeks. What a show! Thanks again for reassuring me
I'm visiting NYC this summer from across the country and though it wasn't the original purpose, seeing AiA is now my main priority on my trip. So much so that I decided to take the leap and buy a face value premium seat. For the dates I can go, there's currently almost full availability for premium seats so I can take my pick and was hoping those who have gone could help me decide!
I'm a front-row fanatic for concerts, but when it comes to theater (and movies) I tend to prefer sitting a little further back for a full view. We all know this show is an extra special case and being up front is worth it, but I'm surprised by how many of you said row AA was desirable! I personally am looking for best view of actors and their expressions without compromising the bigger picture as I know the production value is impressive and I don't want to miss out on getting the full experience. Also, I really want to be able to nab a decent spot at the stage door. [Other notes: I'm 5'5 and a fast walker.] I was originally considering row 5 or 6, but now you all make me want to go closer! The question is..how close is just right?
All things considered, does anyone have advice on what row should I choose? And, center or aisle???
Saw the show the fourth time tonight. I think this is a show that demands to be seen from different angels. From the first row, the journey becomes very personal, and many moments are times more effective than being seen further away from stage. However, distance also gives you the stage images this production very carefully crafted to convey and expand on the majestic scope and epicness of the play. Both are essential to Kushner's play, and it's a shame that you can't have both at the same time.
