OK, it's official: I'm coming to New York City!

I actually convinced the student government at my college (of which I am a member) to organize a student trip to NYC during our Reading Week (read: spring break) in February. It'll be cold, but it'll be oh-so-good!

Of course, my original motive was to see BARE again, but alas, that's not happening. Better plan what shows I'll see then (besides Avenue Q again; once is definitely not enough)....

Will some of you come out for coffee in Times Square?

Assuming by "we" you mean me let me just say that getting to Waterbury, CT may as well be like getting to Cambodia. That MetroNorth is impossible! Why did we never learn how to drive??

*cough*

I can drive. And there's this awesome thing like a half hour away from my house called the "ferry to CT" that lets you put your car on it. Which I have one of, remember. 'Cuz I can drive. Mind you, its not the most dependable thing on the planet, but it goes vroom vroom. we're back, and better then ever (like what would u do in that situation)

I'm not committing to anything, though. I have the weirdest schedule on the planet, so give me a date for this, tell me where Waterbury, CT is (southern, middle, or northern CT), and we'll see what I can do. we're back, and better then ever (like what would u do in that situation)

Well, I don't drink coffee, but perhaps another beverage! we're back, and better then ever (like what would u do in that situation) Congrats on convincing them to come to NYC though!

I can drive. And there's this awesome thing like a half hour away from my house called the "ferry to CT" that lets you put your car on it. Which I have one of, remember. 'Cuz I can drive. Mind you, its not the most dependable thing on the planet, but it goes vroom vroom.

Ooh cars, ferrys, oh my! Though I'm trying to picture myself on a ferry in the middle of January and my extremities are protesting! The problem with MetroNorth is that it'll drop us off in Waterbury, it just won't return until the next day. Grrrr...

I have the weirdest schedule on the planet, so give me a date for this, tell me where Waterbury, CT is (southern, middle, or northern CT)

I have to look the dates up again, but I think it's somewhere in the second week of January. Actually I think I read two different sets of dates for the Waterbury stop on the tour. Does anyone know what the official site is for the JCS tour that has tour dates? In any case, as to your second question about where Waterbury is... hahahahahahahahahahahahaha... oh you were serious. Um, somewhere in Connecticut is pretty much all I know! What is this southern, middle, northern thing you speak of for the driving directionless??

Oh, pfft. There is an INSIDE to the ferry, yanno. You wouldn't be in the wind or anything. Silly non-Long Islanders.

I have to look the dates up again, but I think it's somewhere in the second week of January.

Awesome. I have all of January off from school. I can do January. Any way we can speed up the Wicked tour to make it stop in CT in January too? That week, maybe? It'll save time and money for me. That'd be SUPER. LoL.

What is this southern, middle, northern thing you speak of for the driving directionless??

:-P Dork. I'll ask my friend who lives up there where it is. He'll be able to tell me how far north from the ferry stop it is. And to break it down as simple as possible, if you were to find Waterbury on the map of CT, is it down by water (the LI Sound), north would mean up by the other states, or anywhere between? Hehehehe. Dork. :-P :-P

What about Jack? we're back, and better then ever (like what would u do in that situation)

You just say that because you want him to drag you up on stage and serenade you. I know how your mind works!

LMAO! Actually, when you've been pulled up by Cheyenne, it's hard to compete after that....then again... we're back, and better then ever (like what would u do in that situation)

AAAHHH!! I will be in town that weekend but bought tickets to an event at Joe's Pub, which Chris Seiber is also supposed to be a part of. Go figure. I may have to show my friend who is coming into town, my obsessive tendencies. Michael & Jenna are going to be there according to the website.

http://www.92y.org/shop/event_detail.asp?catalog=92y%5FCatalog&productid=T%2DMM5SS01

Reprising last year's sold-out event, Broadway Kitchen Sink Volume 2 features Broadway, TV and film performers singing their favorite classics from stage and screen. The evening will be hosted by Seth Rudetsky and stars Christopher Sieber (Chicago, Into the Woods, ABC-TV's It's All Relative), Shoshana Bean (Wicked, Hairspray), Lisa Brescia (Elton John's Aida), Jesse Tyler Ferguson (On The Town), Michael Arden (Bare, Big River), Kate Shindle (Cabaret, Jekyll & Hyde), Anita Gillette (Shall We Dance? with Richard Gere and Jennifer Lopez), Jenna Leigh Green (Bare, Sabrina The Teenage Witch), Justin Guarini (American Idol, Broadway's Good Vibrations), and Daniel Letterle (Camp). Musical Direction by Matt Richardson. Note: Cast subject to change.

Poor Jack! I'm talking about the event on Monday night:

I saw this last night but couldn't get back on to post. I found the information on the Miss America website of all places. LOL Must consider going even if Easter Rising is two days later and Christmas the next weekend. Gifts, what gifts? The gift of my presence will be enough!

Also, I don't know how many of you got a chance to see Altar Boyz when it ran this summer but according to this it's opening in February:

https://www.playbill.com/news/article/89692.html

The part that makes me weep girly tears? It opens at Dodger Stages! AGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHHHH!! MoG and I had joked right after we saw it and when we still thought Bare was returning that they should put Altar Boyz in Dodger Stages so we could see the shows on alternating nights and have nice pretty boy cross promotion happening. Well it's nice that one show will get to happen. *sniff*

Oh btw, John would be a great replacement for Cheyenne. I'll just keep putting that out there until something in the universe picks up on it. Now, given my luck he'll get the job and the funding will fall through...

John Hill in Alter Boyz???? Ummm I don't know if any of you listened during Bare..but JOHN isn't a great singer!!!! Pretty to look at...maybe...but Cheyenne does an AMAZING job manipulating his voice into the 90's pop style. John has barely any range and a much stronger legit voice than pop-hence his weak vocal performance in Bare and his lack of material included on the sampler CD (Anyone wonder why he's only in 2 songs and barely those).

I know we all love the cast of Bare...but they cant just be in anything...Alter Boyz was GREAT with that cast...Cheyenne was amazing..and would need to be replaced by someone of equal caliber.

That's like casting Michael Arden as Dorain Grey....great voice..yes...do we need to see him pose nude...UMMMM PLEASE NO.

John Hill in Alter Boyz???? Ummm I don't know if any of you listened during Bare..but JOHN isn't a great singer!!!!

Okay, well I missed the memo that declared this as fact so apparently John decided to pretend he had vocal skills whenever I've seen him. Thanks John!

I know we all love the cast of Bare...but they cant just be in anything...Alter Boyz was GREAT with that cast...Cheyenne was amazing..and would need to be replaced by someone of equal caliber.

Every person in the Altar Boyz cast while good were easily replacable, IMO. For as much talent and charm that I think Cheyenne has, and he has bucket loads of it, I think John has equal amounts and I can absolutely see him in that role and in fact thought of him doing it throughout the entire show.

That's like casting Michael Arden as Dorain Grey....great voice..yes...do we need to see him pose nude...UMMMM PLEASE NO.

I'm sure I could find quite a few folks who would beg to differ with you on that one. Now if we're talking casting Michael in Altar Boyz, no that wouldn't work for me, because I just can't see him pulling off the boy band concept, that doesn't mean he's untalented, just that it's not suited for his strengths. I think Altar Boyz is more than suitable for John.

OMG, were we supposed to "listen" during BARE? Why didn't anyone tell me that? Jesus Christ, they should write that in the Playbill. For serious.

And actually, I think John Hill is a FANTASTIC singer. Just because you might not think so, it really doesn't make it true.

Okay, well I missed the memo that declared this as fact so apparently John decided to pretend he had vocal skills whenever I've seen him. Thanks John!

Dude, me too. Do you think we've been scammed or something? I walked out of the theater thinking he could sing his ass off. Funny that.

his weak vocal performance in Bare and his lack of material included on the sampler CD (Anyone wonder why he's only in 2 songs and barely those).

It probably has something to do with the fact that it's a sampler. As in a sampling of the music. It's not a John Hill cd.

For as much talent and charm that I think Cheyenne has, and he has bucket loads of it, I think John has equal amounts and I can absolutely see him in that role and in fact thought of him doing it throughout the entire show.

As did I. John not only has the vocal ability but the dancing ability as well.

That's like casting Michael Arden as Dorain Grey....great voice..yes...do we need to see him pose nude...UMMMM PLEASE NO.

That's just so rude and demeaning to someone of Michael's talent that I can't even respond.
