I am SO picturing daring Gina to get up on stage and kiss George Hearn.
For tickets to Idina's last? I.will.use.tongue.
*is only half kidding*
I'm so jealous of you guys. Being poor sucks.
And believe me, we should be saving our money too. But we couldn't pass up the chance to see Scott in JCS!
Hey - I don't know if you guys have heard but Aaron Lohr is going be appearing in the movie of "Rent" as "Steve"
Thanks Caligirl. That's awesome! Fishergirl, did you know about this? :)
I am almost positive I saw Kearran Giovanni on today's episode of Guiding Light.
Hey you! That is so great. Good for her. Maybe I should check Guiding Light out for her and that other hottie from the Broadway Flea Market! :)

Actually, yes I did! A little Aaron-loving-lurker-birdie commented on my LJ and told me. *waves* I know you're reading this - YOU RULE HONEY! I'm very excited about this. Not only will I get to see Aaron singing on film, but I'll be able to convince my Newsies/Mighty Ducks loving friends to go see the Rent movie.
In case I don't talk to you guys, HAVE FUN on Saturday with Scott, MoG and Trisky. If I don't see you guys around the lotto line on Sunday, I'll know to call the Stamford police department. Give me a buzz on Sunday and maybe we can find each other in the massive crowds of people? I'd love to hear the rundown of what I missed on Saturday. Same goes for anyone else on here that'll be there on Sunday (TheGaisSilent, this means you! ). I would love to meet you all.
On a sidenote, I once again would like to *stab stab stab* myspace. I noticed you online, MoG, and I went to IM you to say have fun on Saturday and stuff, and the pop up window opened and just froze. Pfft. Stupid Myspace.

There's a lovely chat with the ladies participating in Scott Alan/Sabrina Gordon's show at The Duplex on Monday (raises hands if you will be there? *raises hand*). Our very own (can I call her "ours", oh you know what I mean) is interviewed and gives some insight into her musical theater jones:
Also a couple of shout outs to Damon's brilliance. Still contemplating Toronto in March even if my teeth are chattering at the mere thought.
Her character was fishing for information about a murder that just happened. Makes me think it could be a recurring role. She looked great!
She's incredibly, physically beautiful. I can see the camera totally loving her face. Wishing her luck with that!
Good news for Aaron too. If I go see it with you fishergirl am I going to have to scrape you off the floor? At least Steve doesn't get nekkid at any point in Rent!

You just reminded me of another number I should be adding to my cellphone in case of emergency. I actually called the theater today and they told me it's only 6 blocks from the train station so we can't get too hopelessly lost, I say hopefully. Anyone else need directions now that I've done all this research for trains and taxis? Give me a holla! I'm ready for my chance at The Amazing Race now!

Yes, yes you will.
At least Steve doesn't get nekkid at any point in Rent!
Oh ho ho ho! In the STAGE version he doesn't! Who knows what'll happen, what with all these "changes" being made from stage to film.
And OF COURSE you can call me in case of emergency, which there will be no such thing of, I'm sure. So that means you got a new phone, eh? Is it the same number, or should I be deleting the other one from my phonebook?
And how could I forget SCBWannabe in my "HAVE FUN ON SATURDAY!!" cry? *hits self* Stoooopid fishergirl! Anyone and everyone who'll be seeing Scott on Saturday, or any other day, have a good time!
Oh ho ho ho! In the STAGE version he doesn't! Who knows what'll happen, what with all these "changes" being made from stage to film.
You're such a perv! No wonder I like you. :P
Is it the same number, or should I be deleting the other one from my phonebook?
Yes I got my new phone, and it's the same number and pathetically I've only entered three people into my phonebook and I feel that Damon/Michael should be paying the $50 I had to pay to replace it since it was Michael's show and Damon's chatter afterwards that made me lose it in the cab. Alcohol + me = not so coherent.
BTW, SCBWannaBe has bagged out on us for Saturday so he'll be resting himself in the comfort of his home while we slog through the slums of Connecticut. Does Connecticut even have slums??

Maybe we should all figure out somewhere/time to meet and all do lotto together? If it's anything like Kristin's last, you won't be able to move once you get in line.
JOHN LITHGOW
I just realized, your last name is Butz! Both "Norbert" AND "Butz" are in your name! You must have gotten picked on a lot as a child!
I should be down to the Gershwin around 11:30-11:45 with my friend/owner of my second ticket, so anytime around/after that? I'm rather familiar with the corner of the driveway into the parking lot/the stage door on 51st (shut up, MoG/Trisky) - shall we meet there, maybe? I'm up for anything/anytime/anywhere (bamp chicka bow wow!).
So if Aaron's going to be in the Rent film, does that mean I don't have much longer to hope and pray that maybe he walks Eden to work one day and I just so happen to be on 45th street maybe right by the Brooklyn stage door when he walks her to work he'll be going to SF soon? :-X Me = creepy. *hangs head*
My friend (and 2nd ticket owner) and I are meeting at the Duane Reade next to the Gershwin on B'way at noon, for everyone who doesn't want to wait on the lottery line for more than an hour!

Are the raindrops God's tears of laughter and mirth as MoG and I wander around lost, as if in a zany adventure, in Connecticut today? Damn you Jesus Christ Superstar, damn you!
Why yes, I am more than likely going to hell.
But Scott... *loves*. There, all better now!
"Too young to hold on and too old to just break free and run" - Jeff Buckley
Tracee and I survived our little trip to Connecticut to see JCS and it was well worth the trip! It was the first time for either of us seeing the show and listening to most of the music and we were pleasantly surprised by how much we liked it!
Scott was seriously a standout apostle. He can shake what his mama gave him. Is it wrong to say an apostle is hot? Probably, but whatever. I'll just watch "Sister Act" again tomorrow and I'll be all good with the big "G."
So, please go out and see JCS if you can. The leads were all fantastic and Scott was wonderful!! Support, support, support him!!!
OT: but OMG about Idina.

Seriously. It's why I didn't post last night. I somehow felt I'd be disrespecting what happened to her by pushing her thread down. Eeeek! I hope she's feeling better today and has a nice, easy recovery. Good luck to Shoshana who'll be in an insanely difficult position at today's performance.
As for JCS it really was very good. I have to admit I sort of when in with very low expectations, not out of snobbery, but simply because I knew nothing of the music and only had vague rumblings about the actual production in the back of my mind. The only thing that I felt didn't work because I still can't work out it's purpose is when all of the apostles come out in black suits and stare at electronic boards with stock quotes passing. I'm sure that was some kind of comment on society's greed, but I think I'd have to know the lyrics better to grasp it.
As MoG mentioned Scott can shake his moneymaker! Either I'm very pathetic or Scott is a standout because I picked him out of the chorus of guys in matching black suits and hats with no lights on within about ten seconds of him being onstage for the first time. Oh and nice arms there buddy! Where you been hiding those machine guns??
BTW, on top of being able to shake his arse, I was quite amazed at his flexability. Having just heard what happened to Idina, when I saw that the way he gets from the bridge upstage to downstage which is to climb off of it, with his body doing a full flip, I think I stopped breathing until he was firmly planted on two feet. We gotta get him into another show once the tour closes at the end of the month (GO! GO! GO! if you can). Maybe he can be one of the Cagelles.
Though he's no longer a swing he still retains the Sweetest!Swing!Evah! title. I guess I'll temporarily change it to Awesomest!Apostle!Evah! or something. Thanks for making the trek to CT worthwhile, Scott.

I am so glad that you both made it back okay, and that you enjoyed the show!!
I did not realize that it was your first time seeing JCS, that is so cool that you got to see it with Scott for your first time ever seeing the show!!
I have seen the darn show way too many times than I would like to admit, back in my Tony Vincent lovin' days, but hey I guess the show is pretty good anyway!!
The whole Idina thing is just aweful, hopefully she will have a speedy recovery, and Trisky you make a good point I hadn't even thought about poor Shoshana tonight and the difficult position she will be in.

Hi i read like the first 20 pages of this thread and the last. I've been home sick for the past 4 days....so i'm sick and i really cant take looking throught 200 pages of stuff. So could someone like just IM me and answere some questions i have?
AIM: boatsintheghetto
MSN IM and email: boatsintheghetto@netscape.net
If you could IM me that would be so helpful... THanks y'all
Alright, firstly, let me introduce myself. I'm Caitlin and I've been a fan of this show for a few months now. Hi.
There's one thing about me that I can honestly say I'm not sure if it's a good quality or bad. I'm passionate. If I set a goal, and become passionate about that goal, I never relent. A good example is my passion to be a Broadway actress. This passion has been going on headstrong for a good 11 years now.
Now, I know some of you were doing a whole "what can we do to save this show?" when it was first announced back in October that it seemed likely it wouldn't make it to Dodgers as planned. I don't actually know what was done, but I figured what I've thought of is worth a shot.
I've set a new goal for myself - for us, the fans of this show - and I am quickly becoming very passionate about this goal. A relatively unrealistic idea hit me last night. "How amazing would it be for the fans of this show to raise the money to get it on Broadway?" Now, I know, as many fans as this show has, I highly doubt we could all raise a couple million dollars to get it back on stage. But then another, more realistic idea hit me. "We could start raising the money, and get this talked about. Get press, send letters to people, get the attention we would need. If this is done right, maybe someone would see just how badly we all want this show on Broadway and pitch in the rest?"
I know, I know. A lot of you are probably like "this will never work", but just think about it and think about how much you love this show. Think about how much the people involved love this show. I know I can't tell you if this will work or not, but I really do believe it's worth a shot. I believe everybody needs the opportunity to see this show and should see this show.
Possible or not, how many of you would be willing to help? Just remember that every reality began with a dream.
I really hope none of you think me a total nutcase. LOL
Aww, honey. I told you already that while I'm on the pessimistic side of how this would work out, I'm definitely willing to help you however I can. <3 You're not a nutcase! Not at all.
