mrsshowbiz clearly has some serious mental issues going on and after seeing them exposed like this, it's just getting sad.
Imagine creating a troll account to bash one show, posting negativity endlessly, lying about knowing investors, and then lying about being at the show's opening night. What a pathetic station in life to be in

How bad are they expecting these reviews to be if they're pushed to Monday?
It is odd, particularly when Last 5 Years is opening tonight and those reviews will be coming out tonight into tomorrow, as well.

I suppose the press reps would have got a feel for the general tone over the past week or so. For a Monday embargo request, the tone must overall be on the sadder side of the scale.

What are you talking about? There are a dozen Broadway shows opening in the next two weeks, so they picked a night to celebrate. Reviews are never published on Sundays, as the Sunday Arts section is printed in advance. So they come out on Monday. There is no other reason. Why do people act like they know things when they don’t? Same reason everyone can’t stand this Showbiz person.

Thank you! It's so odd that people state things like facts that are just wild guesses.
Well, looks like we finally got rid of mrshowbiz90210 by simply calling them out on their oversight. They haven’t posted since being called out.

True, but if there was no embargo, NYT would post their review online the night of the opening and have it in print on Monday morning. Lots of Encores productions have their reviews online Thursday night and in print Saturday morning. Interesting how often NYT articles appear online so many days before print. And that's just NYT. Many reviews are not driven by print. New York, The New Yorker, etc.
Thursday night and Saturday night are not the same thing...

If there was no embargo, everyone would have posted their reviews online already, regardless of when it would appear in print. That's the only point I'm making.
My suspicion is that they actually wanted to hold until Monday because then MORE readers would see the reviews. I could be way off, but I would guess that news sites get more traction on weekdays than weekends, so it’s a matter of making sure a lot of eyes are on them. This is, admittedly, pure conjecture.
I guess my question is “Why does it even matter?” It’s not like it’s 1985 and if you don’t see a review in the newspaper you never will. Anyone can google “boop reviews” and see them anytime. I’m just confused why it matters nowadays.

I just hope the reviews are decent. Is it a perfect show? Absolutely not- but it’s fun, mindless night of theater. Jasmine Amy Rogers is a star!

Couldn’t agree more. I unapologetically loved it, book flaws and all, because it’s pure joy on stage and god we need that right now. Pulling for some real raves that will help with marketing, especially since it’s such a perfect rec for tourists looking for a family-friendly happy spectacle. It’s “Broadway” through and through.
If I remember correctly, Great Gatsby did the same thing. They had an opening night and the reviews didn’t come out till a few days later.
After the shutdown, West End producers pushed to instate "gala" nights on Broadway so that they could enjoy the parties without having to worry about reviews tampering the evening. It's 100% ego-driven, but as someone who has experienced dozens of openings it certainly does make the night more fun.
Congratulations to the cast and crew of "Boop". I am looking forward to seeing it myself.

Almost 24 hours and no posts by Boop “expert” Showbiz. No surprise. Must still be at the opening party.
