I wish Foster was nominated. The songs are very good.

Really? I hope this is true.

Pricing might not be as big a problem as you think.
The show has $45-49 rush/lotto seats, regular mezz tickets starting at $58, all of next week's performances on TDF for $63, and last week's average ticket price was a paltry $79.
There are some shows where you could advertise "all seats $35" and they STILL wouldn't sell.
The show is bleeding money and even if the creative team & service providers have waived weekly fees to keep it afloat, everyone working in the building still needs to be paid a living wage (most of them a union wage).

Caught it last night—went in with very low expectations, and while there were several delightful surprises, on the whole the show was pretty meh.
Right out of the gate: Jasmine Amy Rogers deserves all the adulation she’s getting—her charisma was off the charts, her dancing was on point, and (save a few flat notes early on) she was in very fine voice. I’ll be eager to see what this young talent does next, especially in a different genre of show. Honestly, I thought all the principals were charming. Jasmine and Ainslie had great chemistry, and he managed to make what could’ve been a very vanilla role more memorable—mostly thanks to his voice, dancing, and general handsomeness. Stephen DeRosa and Faith Prince brought some good veteran chops, but even their prowess couldn’t justify the amount of time dedicated to their characters in a show that had no business being 2 hours and 30 minutes long.
“Where I Wanna Be” was a fabulous Act I closer, but boy, were many of the other songs stinkers. The one where she first arrives in NYC and starts perceiving color because she sees the yellow in a Pikachu at Comic Con? Like… be serious. And the fact that an actual line sung is “I’m fluent in jazz”? Go straight to jail. Do not pass Go. Do not collect $200.
Talented cast in material that had some things going for it but didn't get there on the whole. Look forward to seeing my nieces in it at their high school in a few years when this is licensed and I have nieces!

Well deserved for Jasmine Amy Rogers to win Outstanding Lead Performer in a Broadway Musical at the Outer Critics Circle Awards! Took down a competitive field (Darren Criss, Jeremy Jordan, Audra McDonald, Nicole Scherzinger, Jennifer Simard).

Is it really Jasmine’s to lose? I’m suddenly much more interested in this race. Would take this over Nicole or Audra any day.

Jasmine out of the matinee today
This afternoon at BOOP!, the role of Betty Boop will be performed by Victoria Byrd
A lot of leads out of Matinees today. Can they all be shooting something for the Tonys?

Other than adding Hilty & Simard who else is missing the matinee today?

Per Jasmine's Twitter, she's out to rest her vocal cords. Perhaps that's a cover for something else, but I don't see why she'd need it to be.
This feels like the type of show that will follow the same touring trajectory of W4E. I think the show is spectacle-enough that a decent chunk cities can feel confident in adding it to their subscriptions, especially in cities that can't get the more in-demand first-year shows ala DBH.
I think this goes out as a lower-budget Networks tour or something like that. The physical production looks like it was almost designed for the road already.
