I feel for everyone involved, but right now, I really feel for the Telecharge reps and box office people who have to deal with fall out from this insanity.

Yes, anytime a shows closes and there's purchased tickets for dates past closing, tickets are always refunded.
secondly-HOLY SH*TSH*TSH*T...good grief, it's like smash except the show already opened...has there been a recent scandal bigger than this other than Rebecca?? It's official, they might as well close on Oak's last day on the 13th. I can't think of a more scandalous 48 hours
"
I know if it's closed I get a refund. I bought tickets on the 20th to see Patinkin. If by some miracle the show doesn't close on the 13th, can I get a refund for the 20th?
I'll be surprised if this show is still open in two weeks.

What the HELL is your vendetta against Oak? Seriously dude. You can't blame the actor for the actions of the freaking producers.

You're entitled to a refund whenever an above the title star is out, as long as you give telecharge a call and request it. I've done it many times and they're always very efficient.
Both sides failed this show- the Kagans and their continued tonedeafness and the Twitter outrage hivemind that would rather score woke points that look at a bigger picture.

That will be at the producers' discretion, but I'd be surprised if they don't issue refunds for the Patinkin dates (at least those that were purchased in the past 48 hours). To not do so would be disingenuous.
So sad that so many will be out of a job due to self-righteousness and empty virtue signaling.

Maybe Rachel Chavkin can talk him in to coming back? F*CK this is depressing
This is what the ultra sensitive thoughtless 'offended' at nothing movement of 2017 does. I mean the show was probably doomed after Mandy anyway but for god's sake. People need to calm the **** down and think a little bit before letting their emotions take over.

Indeed. They're such good folks over there. I'm sure they're already ringing the phone off the wall at the Imperial to get an answer on the refunds.

I can't roll my eyes hard enough re: this nonsense and the ass-kissing. Wow.
The worst is that they - meaning the thoughtless irrational crowd - have clearly won. It's only going to continue their ridiculous behaviour.
Meanwhile this same group of people will probably not even be phased at things they should be offended at, like the indoctrination of children with untrue beliefs that lead to sexism, homophobia and oppression of free thinkers. This world sucks!
If the show closes on August 13th do you think the producers can sue Rafael Casal for defamation?
I love this show. But it was done in by bad producing decisions all along.

Thanks for the answers everyone. I think I'll wait and see if/when they set a closing date and then call telecharge

What a mess. I don't see how it can be fixed now because I can't imagine anyone, white or black, wading into that toxic situation and taking the part. At least not any big name which is apparently what they need.

I love this show, but these Producers are a mess and that's putting it kindly! First, the legal battle with Ars Nova now this! I hope the show survives, it's an incredible piece of art albeit, maybe not for everyone.
The only person I can think, right off the bat, who could save this show would be Hugh Jackman. But that is not going to happen. The producers of this show are a bunch of morons. Mandy did the honorable thing in withdrawing.
And much, much more, Philly. Much more.
I cannot wait to see what companies all over the country do with this remarkable piece. And maybe I'll get to sing a Dust & Ashes at some point.

^^ Agree! I'm on Oak's side and respect Patinkin for his decision.
With only having Patinkin on for a few weeks, that still would not have been enough to keep the show floating without a major replacement...though Oak should not have been replaced anyway. Ugh.

They *can* if they want to. Whether or not the case would get anywhere is a different story.

I'm not the type to respond to stuff with the word "preach," but honestly.
PREACH.

This. Casal's twitter has been quiet aside from replying to someone who posted a photo of the chalk outside the theater.
Cool job "starting a conversation," bro. https://twitter.com/RafaelCasal/status/890704196756004868
I hope the show can land a star and manage to weather through at least to the fall. It was easily one of my favorites this season and the cast is so talented and appear goodhearted.
So what's the lesson here? Once a role is played by a black actor a white actor can't be cast?
