i just...i literally cannot believe the last 48 hours... 

i swear if they set their closing date for when i'm out of the country i'm going to lose it. i'm leaving the 12th. 

someone please tell me when dave jumps in to do the show through august.

They have to close on the 13th now. Malloy said they were in dire financial straits once Michaelson leaves. Patinkin just dropped out. Oak is leaving. Malloy isn't going to sell tickets as the lead. It's over. I'm devastated by this.

If by some miracle the show is still open when Mandy's dates would have happened, will they refund tickets? I'm not going to fly out to see Malloy again

Yes, anytime a shows closes and there's purchased tickets for dates past closing, tickets are always refunded.

secondly-HOLY SH*TSH*TSH*T...good grief, it's like smash except the show already opened...has there been a recent scandal bigger than this other than Rebecca?? It's official, they might as well close on Oak's last day on the 13th. I can't think of a more scandalous 48 hours

I hope they're able to bring in someone else to keep the show going.   Hopefully all of this "press" will have done something to move people to buy tickets...

Was there outrage from white actors when a black actor replaced a white actor in the role? Must have missed that. But in the end it doesn't matter because everyone will be unemployed Labor Day.

The show signed its own closing notice by replacing the star who was keeping it open with someone who nobody knows, hoping just the fact he touched Hamilton was enough to get people to spend money on him. It's truly one of the stupidest casting decisions I've ever seen.

If you don't understand the difference between Oak replacing Groban and Mandy replacing Oak, I don't know what to tell you. It would probably still be controversial even if it was two white actors, though I doubt twitter would have freaked out so much.

Months ago, I bought tickets for 8/15, wanting to see Oak. Was just as thrilled to find out I'd see Mandy instead and now.....Ugh. Hoping they can pull something together and make it through the summer, at least. What a terrible situation for all in the cast & crew.

Yes they handled the replacement badly but shame in all the idiots that bashed this show. SHAME SHAME and Godspeed to everyone involved with the show.

I feel for everyone involved, but right now, I really feel for the Telecharge reps and box office people who have to deal with fall out from this insanity.
