I've been an on/off member of this forum for about a decade (I lurked under a different username). This forum is pretty dead these days compared to where it was a decade or so ago. With the decreased amount of participation, I've found this forum has now skewed towards a certain, privileged demographic. It's telling that this thread is probably the most hopping thread BWW has seen for a long time, I guess since Patti Murin. I have no doubt that the talks about race has a lot to do with it, even if most of talking about the insanity of bringing up race in any aspect. The fact that Azudi Onyejekwe's excellent summation here where he recognizes the role race and intersectionality plays in our lives but then also calls out people for not thinking critically and misapplying that into creating a needless and yet harmful controversy:
was met with negativity and people clearly expressing their inability to really understand why race matters to many who think critically about it, really showcases who is posting on BWW these days, and why it's pretty dead and irrelevant compared to what it was back then.
Talking about any social justice issue or even having a good critical take on modern day movements to advance equality on BWW is an exercise in futility.

I understand Equity requires a week's notice to actors. So if Oak leaves Aug 13, then they could not close b4 Aug 20. Wouldn't surprise me if they waited until Aug 13 to announce the replacement. Think about it...if they announce sooner, then there will be tons of blogs about new person taking role from Oak. If they wait, it's like it's new. They're still selling tickets beyond Sept....imagine if Mandy decided to come back....
Okay...that's fair, but the producer's are Wall St folks...Wouldn't you think they would want to keep this show going??? I hope they would....It was a lot of fun....
