Personally I can't imagine a BW show about cheerleading.
Welllll there was Lysistrata Jones

How long did that last? 64 performances, a financial disaster! My point.

34 previews and 30 performances. I saw it during previews. It was a cute show and would be great for colleges or small theatre companies to do.

I agree, it would be good for high school productions.
Okay... I skipped over the part where it runs through October...
The songs I've heard are sort of banal. But I hope it exceeds my expectations.
I really don't see it doing well in the barn that is the St. James, but we shall see...
I saw the show and it's not the film nor is it anything like Lysistrata Jones. It is a lot of fun, though. And a couple of stellar featured performances.
The cheerleader choreography is reportedly amazing.
Looking forward to it!
That'll be five different shows at the St. James in the span of 15 months.
The fat girl is the best thing about te show
Rosscoe, I'd love to know what you look like.
I saw it and it REALLY exceded my expectations! I loved it and i saw it 3 times on tour! The cheerleading choreography is breathtaking and the show is hilarious. I personally like the music, it has a lot of Lin-Manuel Miranda style in it, though not quite as good as In The Heights. I'm glad it's going to Broadway, even for a short time!

Really? A summer limited engagement of a movie that has a HUGE cult following? I think it will do just fine.
I think it'll be great for the cast and great for the show to gain some exposure. I wouldn't be shocked if they try to make it to New Years, that's if some Holiday show doesn't want the St.James.

the show has like nothing to do with the movie, I think people will be disappointed by that. only thing that is the same is
cheerleading. aren't most of the lyrics like rap/hip hop influenced (it wassss written by Lin Manuel-Miranda
most of the music is more pop/cheerleader chanting. there is a good amount of rap and hip-hop, but not nearly as much as ITH
It'll play July 7 - October 7 only(3 months)?? Such a weird schedule considering how bad some shows do after Labor Day.

They should add a vampire. They're very hot with the kids and an easy sell in Broadway musicals.

That's actually a good thing. I like the story of the musical better than the movie.
So the musical isn't "you've been stealing our choreography for years, winning titles you don't deserve and we're pissed"?

The St. James is NOT a barn. It's a beautiful, historic theatre.
Sorry, I get defensive about my favorite theatres.
