Anyway, she sounds great on the recording and I would love to see her but I hear she is, to quote the show, a "mythic bitch".

Hogeland and especially Fairbanks are actually better in the role than Weed.

I just find it to be rather callous. Replacing someone in a musical is usually rather sensitive and especially when they haven't announced anything officially. Callous:

"Maybe she'd just had enough of croquet, pâté and slushies? Broadway.com has confirmed that Barrett Wilbert Weed, who was starring as Veronica in Heathers, the musical based on the 1988 cult classic film, has suddenly departed the off-Broadway production. No word yet on why she left the tuner or who her replacement is."

It's Broadway.com, a mostly tacky ticketing site with a half-assed news division that uses flashy language. It is nothing from the producers. And the article states she left and no reason given, not that she was replaced. They phrased nothing to hint at a firing or being replaced, which would be different in tone. Besides, I have read far worse in Variety, which uses a higher quality version of similar phrasing.

According to this, Charissa has the role! I'm very happy for her. She deserves it.

You will NOT be disappointed by Charissa Hogeland as Veronica. Having seen both Weed and Hogeland in the role, I actually preferred Hogeland's Veronica in almost every way over Weed's, especially vocally.. Heathers is in VERY good hands with Charissa at the helm. This may be enough to get me back one more time!

I agree. Charissa is MARVELOUS, and an inspiration on social media as well. I'm really glad they moved her up because she is very talented and a wonder in the role.

Listening to her sing on YouTube. She's fine. But Weed had such an incredibly interesting voice and demeanor. She was perfect in that role.

She is really good in the role. I just wish I had seen her as Heather Chandler. I heard she was excellent but I love Jessica Keenan Wynn.
