Kinda bummed about that! I would've loved to see Rob in Beetlejuice (if he did return). I thought he might return for the filming of the HBO Max show and then return back to Mrs. Doubtfire (if that makes sense). I feel like if a JoBro were to perform Beetlejuice, it would be another Brendon Urie doing Kinky Boots situation. I just hope it's not Nick Jonas, I feel like Joe Jonas would do much better in Beetlejuice. I'm so curious of who is going to fill the role of Lydia Deetz.

Someone on another thread said Will Blum (if Alex Brightman doesn't return) and it seems he already has Beetlejuice in his bio?

Yea, I'm excited. I wanted Beetlejuice to be my first Broadway show. Since I'm flying in I'll see a few others while I'm there too, but I am for sure going for Beetlejuice. Now we just need that HBOMax ProShot they wanted to do haha.

I truly hope you get to see the show now that it’s coming back!! It’s very exciting for fans and for those who wanted to see it before it closed. I guess I was just surprised because you rarely hear of shows coming back so soon after closing, no matter how big the fan base is or how well the tickets are selling. Bonnie and Clyde had an audience but they never had a revival on Broadway, so I just didn’t think this would happen. But I’m thrilled for the fans and any performers who end up coming back!

Thank you so much and no worries! I know this one was a bit more unexpected, but I'm glad for the other fans, the performers, and the creators. It's definitely amazing news and I always love to see Broadway revivals return.

I still think this is considered the original production. If we play the "what if" game, without the COVID shutdown, Beetlejuice would have played its final performance at the Winter Garden on June 6, 2020, and they probably would have transferred theaters in time for the fall. 

Waitress, on the other hand, had officially closed January 2020 before unexpectedly coming back post-shutdown. The ongoing production is a remounting and not a revival (3 years have not passed since closing night of the original production).

I am specifically talking about user "Hearthemsing". For months, they commanded and demanded that people get over and move on. Really sad and really funny now. But, they will never admit it. Which is even funnier. Here are just a few examples:

This is them commanding that people chill about theater. Yelling at them actually. As you can see, everyone was completely turned off.

And this thread that has them yelling the entire time and says things like "JUST SAYING...until they bring something up about something else happening, why torture yourself by dwelling on what may or may not happen with the show? I have NEVER seen people be so obnoxious about a show closing." and "I completely understand missing a show. I do. But my GOD have Beetlejuice fans gone over the top. My god. If it’s going to come back, they’ll say so. Until then, why can’t you support other things? Move. On. They also announced a tour around the time the show closed, so. It closed. It’s over. Do you really have nothing better going on that you have to keep moping about this show??? I’ve never met a more annoying fandom." The need to control people and demand that everyone get over it is crazy to me. 

They must be a small child I guess. Because actual adults admit wrong and don't sweep things under the rug.  Ah well, the proof will forever be there :)

A lot of people on this board should be eating their words right about now. As Sutton points out, this conversations has spanned many threads, and many people have been rudely insisting that there was no chance of the show returning, or acting like it was ridiculous to think it might.

I understand that it was kind of annoying to have multiple threads all asking the same question when we had no new information to go on at the time. But after a while, some users started conflating “it’s annoying to hear people talk about it” with “it’s definitely not happening.”

Many people forgot that the return of Beetlejuice wasn’t just a pipe dream campaign dreamed up by teenage TikTok fans. There were actual, legitimate reasons why Beetlejuice had the potential to return, because the circumstances of its closing were unusual - being evicted while they still had promising financial prospects. It seemed like many people on this board conveniently forgot about that key distinction, and began treating Beetlejuice like any other cult-favorite flop.

Actual adults actually move on and don’t bring up what people said in the past. You must be a small child since you feel the need to do that. I HAVE moved on now by saying I’m happy for fans and the actors who might come back. Or do you just always need to be right about everything? Just stop. You’re not doing any good by bringing up what was said in the past. The proof will be here too that you can’t just move on from things which is very sad.

I feel it got a lot of hate because it isn't a conventional show too. I've been lurking the boards since the panini started (which is why my account is newer), and even right when it closed I saw a lot of "good riddance" "now better shows can come on" etc. People love to hate it I guess.

Nah not really. Because unlike you, I have the ability to move on instead of actually going back and bringing up what people said months ago. I have the ability to move on, and if you read my posts above (or maybe it was on the other Beetlejuice post?) I have said I’m happy for fans of the show as well as any actors who come back. So, you’re just embarrassing yourself by not being able to move on. How difficult can it be??

I can admit I was wrong about things. But do I owe you that? No. Because I’ve moved. On. Again,  I’m excited for fans of the show, I’m excited for any actors who come back and new actors they bring in. But do I owe you an “I was wrong”? I don’t owe you anything. If you require that then you must be a small child. Please grow up. I am perfectly capable of admitting when I’m wrong, but not when someone constantly harasses me about it and even brings up old posts-which by the way, is completely childish behavior. Yes. It’s very telling that people felt the need to go back to my posts from so long ago. Telling that people are childish and can’t just move on. I’ve done it. I wholeheartedly support the shows return-after the last year, I’m thrilled that a show that means so much to people is coming back. I’m thrilled for actors as well! I have moved on. Can you please for the love of God show me the same? It’s enough. At this point you’re just trying to cause drama which is incredibly childish.

I’m only continuing this because you seem to think I owe you something when I do not. I moved on. I’d appreciate it if you did too instead of saying “they can’t admit they’re wrong”, bringing up things I previously said that I have not mentioned this time around.
