If you bothered to read my posts, you’ll see that I SAID I’m happy for them. I said I’m happy for the fans and any actors involved. Please read previous comments first.

I'm sure all those posters who were borderline abusive in their messaging to people speculating over the past year will come back and apologise for their behaviour. Though it seems it would be unwise to hold one's breath waiting...

This is so pathetic- the glee in wanting to prove people were wrong. None of these people are "trolls" because they didn't believe an unconfirmed rumor, they are just wrong. Thats OK. People are wrong all the time. Before social media, it wasn't something to celebrate from behind a keyboard. Just yikes.

 

ALSO, as someone who never ever got involved in any of this nonsense (and who genuinely could not care at all about Beetlejuice or its fans), let me say something I bet all these "trolls" are dying to say but might not for fear of being gif-attacked by this schadenfreude-fest here:  the people who insisted the show was coming back were, occasionally, the same people who were up in arms over its treatment by critics/awards committees, and who had been insisting the show was going to come back long before there was any reason to think it would. Meaning, I think some of the response to the Beetlejuice mania was over the top, yes, but only in proportion to, and out of annoyance with, the Beetlejuice fandom that made this place feel like a middle school classroom. 

That doesnt make the naysayers (myself included!) any less wrong about their prediction and dismissal of the rumors to the contrary. But "trolls who have no idea what they are talking about" is a bit much...and actually the very sort of over the top inane comment that makes the adults roll their eyes at the Beetlejuice stans in the first place.

And it seems people won’t see that others can change and be happy for those who are fans of shows. And have repeatedly expressed that since the news broke. No, people would rather be trolls and provoke people who have moved on. Sad, really.

Since when does anyone owe anyone an apology? If anything, someone should be apologizing for sending someone else an incredibly rude, hurtful message awhile ago and then blocking that person from responding. So yeah-no apology owed. Move. On.

I take it they stored the set? Was there supposed to be a national tour at some point?

I will definitely see it as I missed it in DC and the original Broadway run.

They had the Korea run, and were supposed to have a run in Brazil but I'm not sure where that's going. 

I think they have most of the set stuff. I'm not sure the theatre size difference, but since they've known about their planned end date (in June 2020) and a few people have posted some design stuff on their Instagrams, so it might be slightly changed (korins posted something a while back).

In general, it's the civilized thing to do to apologize to people when you've been needlessly rude to them. But very few people on this board are in the habit of doing that - not just the "Beetlejuice return deniers."

I DID walk away and-I’m going to repeat myself AGAIN because maybe you haven’t bothered to read anything I’ve written??-ive only said kind things to fans who are excited about the show coming back now. You’ve been ignoring that and bringing back old things I said. Why? What’s your end game? You’re a troll. And that’s more sad than anything I’ve said today. Oh, I would love for this show to tour. I think that it could do well in cities across the country just based on name recognition alone.

I agree, that as a touring show, BEETLEJUICE will do quite well as the movie is so loved. 
I plan on watching the film for the first time ever this week…just to see what all the love and fuss is all about!

God. Sutton, I’m so sorry for what I said on those old posts. I WAY overreacted and I truly hope we can move past that. Really. I hope you can accept this apology.
