What do you think is the best rock ballad, the best love ballad, and the best song that establishes an actor/actress as a definite Broadway star? There can be more than one for each category

MALE: Impossible Dream

ROCK BALLAD:
La Vie Boheme (RENT)

LOVE BALLAD:
As Long As Youre Mine (Wicked)

BEST LOVE BALLAD:
Male - "Tell My Father" (CIVIL WAR....love between dad and son)
Female - "Our Kind of Love" (BEAUTIFUL GAME)
Male/Female - "All I Ask Of You" (PHANTOM OF THE OPERA)
Male/Male - "I'll Cover You" (RENT)

BEST SONG THAT ESTABLISHES AN ACTOR/ACTRESS
Male - "Love Changes Everything" (ASPECTS OF LOVE: Michael Ball)
Female - "And I am Telling You" (DREAMGIRLS: Jennifer Holliday)

I know there are better ones out there, but I am brain dead right now.

I really love the song "Home" from The Wiz. Also, "The Ladies Who Lunch" from Company (but then again, nobody can do it like Stritch!)

WiCkEDrOcKS - I hate to be a bitch, but "La Vie Boheme" is not really a ballad. Not really at all. "One Song Glory" would be a rock ballad.

I almost choked reading "The Wizard and I" and "Rose's Turn" in the same sentence. Don't think I could ever put THOSE TWO in the same category. If anything from Wicked, I'd pick "No Good Deed".

"Male: Hunter Foster-Suddenly Seymore" I would have said Hunter Foster, RUN FREEDOM RUN even though he wasn't nominated it was such a huge step for him (esp. w/ IT being the tony perf) i think it really gave him a name.
