Beth Malone just posted a picture on Instagram of a rehearsal space sign with the caption "Molly takes Manhattan", which leads be to believe that Roundabout is developing/work shopping the show for a New York run. Anyone have any other details about this?
It's Beth's most recent picture: https://www.instagram.com/thebethmalone/?hl=en

The sign also says Roundabout.
Edit: didn’t see the post!
Interesting. I’d have thought Roundabout would be allocating all their resources toward KISS ME, KATE at this point.

Thanks for linking! I couldn't figure out how to link the post so I just linked her account.

Because the sign says Roundabout.
Roundabout has been involved in developing the show for years.
What's funny is Broadway.com is reporting this as "exclusive", a few minutes *after* Beth Malone made that insta post. Sigh.
I have mixed feelings. I love Beth. I love Roundabout. I don't really love the show nor do I think it needs a revival. Maybe they've overhauled it and it'll be great.
It's a supposedly totally new version with a new book and a bunch of added Willson trunk songs (with altered lyrics).
It's been kicking around for years and years, with mixed-to-apathetic reactions. Sutton Foster was connected at one time, and (I think) Meg Hilty at another.
I guess they feel that they'll turn it into a hit if they just workshop it enough times.

That's how I feel about "Kiss Me Kate."

Well Kiss Me, Kate is a great classic musical at least. It isn't begging for a revival, but at least it's a classic. Molly Brown's just kind of an old clunker that isn't really on anyone's radar.
Weren't the MUNY reviews pretty disappointing?
DAMMIT SOMEONE REVIVE PARADE
Of course Roundabout has been developing this. Of course.
I'd actually prefer Half a Sixpence over this.
I'd prefer the 1903 Wizard of Oz.
Having suffered through the original version years ago, all I can say is that this show indeed needs a complete book rewrite to be enjoyable to modern audiences under the age of 60. Hope they’re on to something, as I know it’s been a labor of love...

I agree with you. I would LOVE to see a revival of Half a Sixpence. I don't want to think about how long it has been since I saw it, but I remember it much better than a lot of shows I have seen since then, because I loved it so much.
Have to admit, however, that I would rather see a revised version of Molly Brown than Kiss Me Kate. I just can't warm up to KMK because I hate every number in the show within a show. And there are a lot of them.
I saw this about 8 years ago at the New Play Summit in Denver. It does have a new book and music. I enjoyed it more than I expected. Kathleen Marshall directed it and Marc Kudish was in it. Dick Scanlan wrote the book.

I love Parade, but that’s never going to sell.

With the right stars and advertising, anything's possible.

Ben Platt is famous now.... Anna Kendrick wouldn’t be a bad pairing
A full production was done at the DCTC in 2014.

Platt would be TERRIBLE in Parade.

Platt is wrong for Leo Frank for a multitude of reasons, starting with the fact that he’s far too young.
Anna Kendrick has a pleasant enough voice, but she could never sing Lucille Frank.
Are you remotely familiar with the show at all? It’s not a pop score and requires strong singers. Anna Kendrick could never sing that score the way Carolee Carmello did.
