I dont even understand why people are mad at this????? Ben has been saying basically on every interview that he's a huge fan and would love for her to come. Why do people just like to hate about random things...

Why people find this annoying and hate on Ben:
1) Jealousy. Why doesn't Beyonce come visit me in New York? I'm way funnier than Ben Platt, she'd have a better time with me.
2) New York theater fans saw him on Tinder and were mad when he didn't swipe right.
3) I think it's false naivety of the whole thing. I think Lin fell into this too. ("Hi, I made this thing, and I hope you guys like it??" ) You're the star in Broadway's most buzzed about show last season, you won a Tony Award, and celebrities have been coming to see you in swaths... and there's still a level of "How is this happening to me? I'm just a kid!" Come on. Your dad is a big-time producer, it's no mystery how you got here. Just own it.
I do this a lot and realize it's immature but I can't change my gut reaction dammit!
