Billy Elliot The Musical

Obvious answer, Liam then George then James. (Leon if you are including him would go after Liam).

Children are limited to a 6 month contract however there is nothing to stop them renewing for a second term. Liam and George by 3rd December will already have been performing for longer than 6 months.

All great things must come to pass. We know the first will soon be last and in the ground we may be lain , but a seed is sown to rise again.

I'm sorry I haven't posted in quite some time, but have been working elsewhere on the Gulf Coast aiding in the hurricane relief. Back to the play. As much as I would dearly love to have this wonderful show come to the States, I realize that it really isn't a viable option. I've seen discussions of possibly having an American cast and training them in speaking with the British accent (hasn't ever worked in my opinion and never will). Also, the logistics of bringing an all British cast over to Broadway is also a scheduling nightmare, what with the boys getting ready for their exams. Do they also set up a school here for them?
This show must remain 100% British, if it means that I'll never see it, then so be it. I'd rather dream about seeing the show, than to see it watered down in any way. And hopefully, there is also the Lottery lol, maybe I'll win enough to get over there.
On the note about selling a DVD, I realize that it could delute ticket sales there in the UK, but what about distributing a region 1 disc to the States, so that those of us who may not ever get over there could enjoy the show. The soundtrack CD is another story, I'll get a copy as soon as it is out. And yes, "I do support the Billy OCR Campaign for 3 Billy recordings."

I disagree. I feel that there are enough Billy Elliot fans here in the States just from watching the film, that it would be a solid hit. Again, it must remain British, anything less would not be Billy. And that is why it must not come here. I know, I sound daft. But I loved the story so much from seeing the film 6 times (and numerous additional times since buying the DVD), I don't want this play diluted in any way. Unless we can experience the full effect and the solid energy from the West End performance, it's better to keep it in the UK. Gives me an incentive to try to raise the funds to get over there.

It makes me really sad, that a fantastic show like this, with so many wondeful dedicated fans as the posters here, doesn't get treated like it deserves from its producers. This huge delay of the Cast Recording is inexcusable to me. Are they even going to release it THIS year or should we wait for the Annual anniversary ? It's been 6 months already and not even an announcement in sight !!! This must be the most belated Cast Recording in the history of London musicals !! LM The New CD!

If you look at the audition poster it says that the ballet girls and billy elliots will be performing this december on stage. How can this work? That means they only have just under two months two learn it all. How long did it take for James, George and Liam to learn everything till it went on stage?

I support the Billy OCR campaign for 3 Billy recordings!

I can tell you that 'Express Yourself' will be done by Liam Mower on the cd. On its release, there might be an 'extras' cd.

The original Billys actually set the dances. Which is why it took so long to get right. Beinspired is correct in that a lot that was tried wasnt actually used. Now who ever follows just learns the set routines. The kids that are short listed learn them from the start, as part of the audition process.

As far as I'm aware, the auditions that are taking place at the moment for the new Ballet Girls and Billy's won't mean they are all appearing in the show from this December onwards...

All the Ballet Girls who are successful will start performing in the show from December 5th onwards but as for the boys being chosen to play Billy, these will start the extensive programme held at the Billy Elliot school up in Leeds ready to go into the show half way through next year Auditions

Well, if the OCR was due this or next month it would already be up for preorder on amazon.co.uk, wouldn't it ? Since there is no mention at all there, it means that PROBABLY it is not coming out for another couple of months !

Last night I saw Leon Cooke's performance; so I have now seen all four Billys! Leon's ballet is particularly good, nevertheless his other dancing is also great. For a youngster dancing alone on stage to be able to captivate the audience the way he did last night is incredible, my congratulations to all involved. Joey was also great, as - always - were Mrs Wilkinson, Dad, Tony, Nan, Big Davy and everyone else.
Also in the theatre foyer were flyers stating that the OCR is due out "Autumn 2000"; I find that I enyoy the music and songs more now that I know them!

Hi! I'm new here..., but I already following this for about 4 months.
I just got the 3rd december ticket. Thanks to Londonboy!
They said there are still a lot of tickets available, but I'm not sure if they have best view. I think there are small number of tickets left in the stall area, while the other areas are still empty. For me, myself, I got Grand Circle. I don't think I can cope £50 (I watch leon once in the stall area). Now, I am only hoping that liam will be on 3rd december night performance as I already saw the others.

Impossible cacher.

Impossible cacher
Soudainement je vole.
Voler comme un oiseau.
Comme Électricité.
Électricité.
Étincelles dans moi.
Et je suis libre.
Électricité.
Étincelles dans moi.
Et je suis libre. Libre.

(NB. I am not a french, so don't expect this to be perfect.... I have to delete some "articles" in order to make this lyric fits into the song)

I welcome somebody to correct this (especially if they are french)

I really like the optimism of all the people who wish for 3 cast recordings !!! They still haven't managed to release ONE and you are hoping for 3 ???? What makes you think that the producers give a damn about what the fans want ? They would have already given us the Cast Recording or at least official news, if that was the case !

I saw leon in the show last night...he was so good. he really came alive when he started dancing and although he was a bit out of time at the begining of the 'Swan lake' routine he managed to get back in time and danced it wonderfully. I was so glad i catched Leon because if i didnt last night i probably never would of
