Steve hopefully would post his thoughts of the show when it does its "previews" in Arizona. I was wondering and i hope Margo reads this thread. Bombay Dreams did recoup in London. I know it was a flop on Broadway, but it still ran for almost a year i think, or maybe 8 months. Anyone knows how bad did the show do?

On Broadway, I believe it ran no more than 8 months, but the show cost 14 million, but I remember being at a couple of performances where the orchestra was 50% empty. I can't imagine it made any money back at all, far from it.

it did recoup in London. It was announced on playbill.com like 2 or 3 years ago. That's when they decided to bring the show to Broadway.

Rentboy check this, it talks about the change they did for the Broadway production and it also says the advanced sales on Broadway were 4 million dollars. I guess the beginning was good for the show, then ticket sales went down, then by the end it got really busy again because the show was closing.

The Broadway theatre it's actually a very big theatre and hard to fill. Bombay Dreams has lyrics by Sunset Boulevard's Don Black. A book by Syal and Tony Award winner Thomas Meehan(Hairspray/The Producers) and directed by Steven Pimlott, who also directed Joseph and the amazing technicolor dreamcoat. The creative team was amazing.

If you are stereotyping people that have muscles, don't have brains. Then that "brain" is really narrow. People with muscles have brains. And it takes brains to have muscle.
Sorry for getting OT - but had to back up my muscle bro!

Copeman I am taking your comment as a joke, so it's all good, anyhow...it is very narrow minded(and stupid) to think that anyone who has muscles doesn't have a brain. I am not that muscular, my name is just a SCREEN NAME, anyhow...the cast has been announced!

Finally a cast list! Relatively unknowns.. Anyone know of any of them?
#247
Posted: 2/6/06 at 8:15pm
Some of those unknowns can be your next big stars, I've seen it happen (And I won't mention seeing Hunter Foster do Rum Tum Tugger back in the 92 tour of Cats, But I did.)

I have also see many stars when they were completely unknown. Still because many of these actors are not white, they will probably have a hard time getting many roles on Broadway unfortunatly.
