So much for doing Pippin......
Well that's a coup for them! I have to say I'm a bit suprised Creel is doing a national tour (though I have to imagine this will be a true first class tour)...but I guess everyone has bills to pay...
This is casting done right!

Im sure it doesn't hurt that he is dating Andrew Rannells.
So when are he and Rannells going to release a duet version of "I Believe"?
Come on, it can be for Broadway Impact...
Have to say I'm quite surprised. I could maybe have seen him taking over on Broadway or maybe even heading up the show when it goes to London. I wouldn't have had him down as taking the tour but good for him, I'm sure it'll be a first rate production.
Also, clearly I'm really out the gossip loop because I had no idea about him and Andrew Rannells!
I'm sure it doesn't hurt that he is dating Andrew Rannells.
Since when? Last time I checked, Andrew was still dating Denis Jones...
Didn't Denis Jones just dump Rannells a month or so a go? Boy, he works fast...
WELL, when you are as cute and talented as Rannells is, I'm sure it's not difficult to find someone new to date! AND, he's in the hottest show on Broadway.

I thought they were dating, wasn't there a big thing about them going to the godspell opening night together.....
I'm sorry, but isn't Gavin a touch too old to be playing a 19 year old?
Yes, but people on the fence about seeing the show may decide to go when they see "two-time Tony nominee" in the PR materials. Not a bad move, strategically!
Creel is two years older than Rannells. It's not like they cast Methuselah or Grandma Moses in the role.

I love him so much and applaud his getting very far away from Ms Diane P. I will make an effort to see this tour if there is such a thing as a ticket available.
I guess I will be seeing this when it comes to Rochester now!
Perfect casting!!!!! Can't wait to hear the rest of the cast!!!
One has to wonder if David Archuleta ever saw The Book Of Mormon....

Hello, my name is Elder Arch...
Proctor's up my way just announced their next season and it's all sloppy seconds...no Mormon. Oh well, back to the lottery tomorrow and Saturday night.
When David's press release came out, I thought he WAS going into B.O.M....
This is wonderful news. This might actually get me to see Book of Mormon if it comes to San Diego. It wasn't announced for this season so I'm kind of thinking Gavin will be gone by the time it gets here, but who knows.
And I figured they were dating when I saw the Godspell opening night pics. Odd that Gavin was dating Jonathan Groff and then ended up playing Claude on Broadway and now he's dating Rannells and playing Elder Price on the road. Crafty. Does he even need an agent at this point?
Hmm. I'm undecided.
On another note, I wonder if they'll play Salt Lake.
Very interesting casting. He'll have a much different take compared to Andrew Rannells. And I think it's wonderful that Gavin is touring. I don't really get the stigma. It's a 1st national, that used to be a big deal. It shouldn't be looked down upon to star in a national tour. It's not the same as creating the role, sure, but neither is starring in a revival or replacing on Broadway.
This also the first national tour of the Book of Mormon. Hiring a star plucked from obscurity would not have been a great move.
I am VERY curious to see how it does in London...something tells me the Brits won't like it quite as much as the Americans. But only time will tell.
