Just an FYI - The gift shop next to The Olive Garden in Times Square is going out of business and everything in the store is 75% off. I happened to walk by tonight and picked up 2 windowcards, 5 cast recordings, 2 ceramic tile magnets and a t-shirt for Urban Cowboy (c'mon, it wasn't THAT bad... for $43.00
Just thought I'd pass it along to anyone else who wants cheap Broadway merchandise.

I need to get there tomorrow and buy whatever good stuff is left, and then get myself over to the Marquis and buy a DROWSY record (if any happen to be left).

Ha ha! The first thing I thought of when I read the title of this thread was: Ooo...discounts! I hope I can get there tommorrow afternoon. And I hope there will be some decent stuff left.
I'll buy a cast recording of pretty much anything if it's cheap.

You must remember all the same that at the crux of every game is knowing when it's time to leave the table... And it's important to be artful in your exit. No turning back, you must accept the con is done... It was a ball, it was a blast. And it's a shame it couldn't last. But every chapter has to end, you must agree. ~Dirty Rotten Scoundrels~
There's a special kind of people known as show people. We live in a world full of dreams. Sometimes we're not too certain what's false and what's real. But we're seldom in doubt about what we feel. ~Curtains~
It is a far, far better thing I do, than I have ever done; it is a far, far better rest I go to, than I have ever known. ~A Tale of Two Cities ~
This is gonna sound like a dumb question but I really need the closure. This isn't the gift shop near the St. James Theatre, is it?
Butters, go buy World of Warcraft, install it on your computer, and join the online sensation before we all murder you.

ATTENTION FANS: I will be played by James Barbour in the upcoming musical, "BroadwayWorld: The Musical."
Also,Footlight Records, is closing all operations. Since closing the retail store they have been doing internet only business. Now that is also on the way out. A very sad situation.

Why not check their web site? www.footlight.com The last time I looked they were selling magazines at 75% off.
Having lived in a collegetown all my life, I just don't buy the "poor college student" excuse. It's my observation that they pretty much have whatever they really want to have. You need to set your priorities. I was raised in a lower-middle class family, started my collection of show recordings as a teenager, kept it up as a "poor" college student, a low-paid member of the US Army and while raising a family of four children. If you think Footlight Records is too expensive, you could always shop at Colony Music
I work a block from there and spent my lunch hour walking around. Picked up 5 magnets and a couple of CDs - $24!
Was there anything people wanted me to look for? If so, respond below and let me know and i can walk over there in a few hours after work or tomorrow at lunch time and if they have it, I could pick it up for you.
There are lots of TShirts of closed shows, posters of old shows, porcelain and regular magnets, older CDs, show pins, matchboxes with theater covers (shaped like the porcelain magnets) and other misc things. They open at 930am.
