Posted: 11/1/10 at 3:32pmI think similar happened last year. My guess is the theaters were probably dead Saturday evening and all day yesterday because of Halloween. Maybe even Friday night too.

Posted: 11/1/10 at 3:49pmI'm really curious to know what the attendance/gross was for American Idiot's 10 pm show.

My initial reaction was "wow what happened???", but a few factors contributed to the mostly-plummeting week. First off, KNOB was selling the half price tickets, so that contributed to the loss in money. Another thing was the random schedule changes, such as American Idiot's two show Friday, and BETM moved it's Sunday night show to Wednesday without much notice. Other than that, many people were probably just at halloween parties/events etc.
At American Idiot on saturday night, it seemed to be a full house with the exception of a few scattered empty seats, maybe 10 or so (at least looking from the orchestra), so idk.

Posted: 11/1/10 at 4:28pmI think that's supposed to be Kid's Night On Broadway. But, the St. James Theatre has 3 levels there. So, a few empty seats in the orchestra doesn't look like much until you see the mezzanine and balcony. I wouldn't know for American Idiot, but I did go to Finian's Rainbow and got moved to the rear mezzanine from the balcony because I guess they didn't sell enough seats in either section.

Well, they did just release tickets to at least May so they have something planned. And yes, I know releasing more tickets doesn't mean that the show will continue until then but they released more for a reason.

Posted: 11/2/10 at 10:50amHalloween week is generally one of the slowest weeks of the year for Broadway. I mark it on my calendar because so many shows offer comp tickets for the weekend. It's the worst I suppose when Halloween is on Sunday night because people will be out all weekend and not in the theatre. I got at least 5 free ticket offers for this weekend, as I'm sure you all did too. But I had Halloween plans.

Chris Hoch (as per Broadway Understudies) was on for Georges in LA CAGE from 10/26 to 10/31.
Poor Colin Quinn.,..that is simply box office slaughter.
AMERICAN IDIOT will be gone by January for sure unless they pull something big. (Billie Joe reprise anyone?)
