Because Halloween fell on a Wednesday so 2 of its performances were impacted by the Holiday.
Huge numbers for THE CHER SHOW and MOCKINGBIRD.
I'd say THE PROM isn't off to a great start, but it did make more than HEAD OVER HEELS.

Wouldn’t that also be true of The Lion King and Aladdin which also appeal to children yet didn’t see significant drops?
I imagine Frozen attracts more American tourist kids than the other two, and they'd want to trick-or-treat that night instead of seeing a show.
Frozen's TDF Autism performance was also yesterday

Thrilled that Mockingbird, Ferryman and Lifespan are doing such great business and that Waverly Gallery is doing increased business, although I am doubtful it will return its investment, which is a shame. Those grosses should help keep producers thinking about plays, although I do think that Mockingbird's business is about the love the book has, which can not be said of many other books (any other?). I also think that Ferryman is a bit of an event, between the sheer size of the production and the great reviews, so it may not be representative. Lifespan is proving that names are important and I think Waverly is proving it to a lesser degree; how many people would be seeing it, despite the great reviews, if not cast with well known actors?
I am very disappointed by Torch Song's grosses. I would be interesting to see its grosses if Arnold were being played by Daniel Radcliffe or Jesse Eisenberg, for example.

Geez, Head Over Heels has its first sub-40% week at 38% attendance. Making barely 21% of potential grosses. Would someone please put it out of its misery!

Great start for The Cher Show and The Bartlett Sher Show (TKAMB)!
Halloween being on a two-show Wednesday killed some of these grosses. I'm surprised some shows didn't change the schedule and add a Sunday night show instead of Weds night. My Fair Lady sold a lot of cheap tickets for its two fan performances on Wednesday, so it will be interesting to see if the grosses bounce back in the coming weeks.
Well, they're keeping people getting paid, so that's something good.

When I saw Waverly Gallery last Tuesday, there were alot of empty seats in the rear mezzanine. They actually allowed us to move down to the empty seats about 5 minutes before curtain. I ended up second row center, so I was happy.
seems to me there are only really two shows interesting enough to discuss at this point (Torch and Kong) and perhaps a couple of others that warrant keeping an eye on. Peculiar, what's up with the Bartlett Sher shade?? (and also, the Mockingbird abbreviation seems silly.

It might just be rumor/conjecture, but I heard that there isn't a lot of interest in Circle-in-the-Square for next season, so as long as Davenport is happy to keep pouring money into it to keep it afloat, the theatre won't stop-clause them.

I think the producers of Waitress are incredibly lucky that the show has already run 2 1/2 years. I enjoyed the show because of the book and performances, but actually didn't love the score...I couldn't get through the cast recording once. It has run as long as it has due to its having the ability to bring in Sara Bareilles periodically, coupled with the hit it got from Katherine McPhee.

I strongly disagree. I think Waitress has one of the strongest scores of musicals in recent years but it is saddled to a book that is just okay. And I think years from now She Used to Be Mine will be considered one of the best 11 o'clock numbers ever composed for musical theater. Sara Bareilles' gift as a songwriter I think transcends a weak and somewhat predictable book.
I’ve long found Waitress’ score to be overrated and the book to be slow and boring. I hope they open up the Atkinson in the new year.
I find the Waitress score to be top notch and underrated.
