Right because calling someone a little ***** is definitely not unnecessary nastiness. Got it.

…why? The last post was only a few minutes before your bump and this has been a fairly active thread since it went up yesterday.
I think they were ‘bumping’ the thread to move it to the next page otherwise the 50th post gets hidden.
Ah right, I forgot about that unresolved quirk.

Correct. I don’t like to wait until post #51 to read #50. I promise it’s nothing to get bent out of shape about, re: the comment above what I just responded to… :)

The tops for the week were shows that I would imagine would appeal to a wider range of ages than Sunset Blvd. would. Even with all that, it was off a negligible amount from the previous two weeks."
Even so, I was really surprised. This means that even Nicole performances had a decent number of empty seats, which I really would not have expected."
Producer on show says Tuesday Mandy shows are half full or paying audience and biggest loss for the show. Sunset Blvd is now up on TDF for nights without Scherzinger. 12-10, 12-17, 12-21, 1-1.

re: Maybe Happy Ending expecting to do better on a holiday week (and I may be overly optimistic about this), but it's been talked about how for holidays most shows do well but only if they have a certain appeal to a certain group (ie tourists). While Maybe Happy Ending has gotten glowing reviews, I'd wager that the average tourist still might not have heard of it or might've passed it off when they heard it was about robots falling in love which can sound cheesy if you don't know the show. They've only just switched their social media team (I don't remember if they did for more traditional marketing as well?) so it may take time to see that effect, especially considering that tourists coming in for Thanksgiving probably buy a lot of their shows ahead of time so MHE may not have been on their radar yet.
Like others have said, it'll be the next few weeks that'll be the most telling.
Do we know what the capitalization was for The Outsiders? I'd be curious to know as to when they might recoup and start turning a profit. They're doing incredible business and the rest of the holiday weeks should be huge for them.
Also curious about Gatsby. Definitely has a longer ways to go but they've been holding on strong and going longer than any of us thought they would.

I remain mystified by Gatsby, after the WOM from Papermill was less than stellar. And that's a barn of a theatre, too
OUTSIDERS is capitalized up to 22 million, which seems awfully high but this is the new normal. GATSBY is only $3 mil more, but its running cost is a good deal higher so profit margins are lower.
OUTSIDERS is probably at least halfway there, if not more.
Thank you!! The post-Covid economics of Broadway are fascinating to me.
Saw MHE for the second time tonight. The first time, I was able to move because there were many empty seats. Tonight the show was packed. My friend and I decided that the title of the show isn’t doing it any favors, and neither is the explanation of what it’s about. This is one that needs the positive word of mouth (that clearly it’s getting) to put people in those seats, but once they’re there…pure delight. Hope the grosses continue to rise!
