Torch Song just keeps falling... I'm gonna cry.

I don't know why The Ferryman having a difference of $13 is cracking me up but it is.

Looks like it was a rough week for most shows :/

Anyone recall a time when one house shows up for two different shows in the grosses like the Marquis did this week, for Celebrity Autobiography and The Illusionists? I'm thinking perhaps if a show closed and another opened in same week, but that's pretty rare too. Looks like Celebrity Autobiography plays Monday nights. How odd for two Broadway shows to share a house like this........right?

Head Over Heels played at 34% capacity. What does that look like in the theater? 7 in 10 seats being empty. So sad. At this point, I can't believe they're subjecting the cast to perform to houses filled with 330 people (out of 960 seats) in lieu of giving away mass blocks of tickets to schools or charities or something. It makes me so angry that so much money went into this show for nothing.

I wonder why you picked out The Band's Visit to worry about. It's still doing much better than many other musicals you didn't mention, at 73% of potential at a decent average ticket price of $103.00. It's still making money.

The week after Thanksgiving is typically not a great week all around and last week was no exception.

I get that the theater is mostly empty, but I think the performers are still excited to be telling the story and showing that representation. Not that I know any of them personally, but the two times I've gone (both Sunday matinees) the entire cast came out to sign and really took their time with the people at stage door, all super friendly and genuine. Yes, the theater is mostly empty but they're still grateful to be employed and get to tell this kind of story.

Makes you wonder who's still paying $258 for a ticket too...

Might have to arrange to see The Prom sooner rather than later. Numbers do not look good ...

I'm planning to see Prom and Waverly Gallery this Saturday, but not really seeing any stellar seats, so looks like they are getting people in there, they just aren't paying very much?

The many good reviews for THE PROM were a surprise, and the advance sale was very slim, so it would normally take a while for an unheralded show, with no big stars, to build. And the pre-Xmas slump doesn't help, nor will the early winter months. What's really sad is that TORCH SONG hasn't caught on, and it probably won't be a big holiday seller. The next few months will tell the tale...

It is a commercial, limited run production, with 2ST having a small stake/loaning the theatre for it. However, the producers have a HOH-Level of zeal for the success of this show. I doubt it will shutter early, especially since 2ST won’t be able to put anything in on such short notice to fill out the rest of the winter.
