Happy trails to MARJORIE PRIME, Helen J Shen, and the most recent casts of SIX and ALL OUT.
Valentine's Day, Presidents' Day Weekend, and the end of the wintertime Broadway Week discounts helped contribute to these fine numbers.
Solid numbers for everyone!
Also worth noting, STRANGER THINGS filmed their proshot this week, so no numbers to post.

Groffsauce & Co. topping so many shows with twice the weekly capacity never fails to make me smile. Talk about the little engine that could.
Curious how close Just in Time is to recouping, if it hasn’t done so.
Wow. Happy for Chicago. That's some Broadway debut $$$$ for Whitney Leavitt. She is killing it at the box office.

What's going on in Hadestown land right now? That's a nice bump for them, and it looks like the cheapest seats they have over the next two weeks are well over $300.

I was surprised talking to some young theatergoers recently just how much of a draw / sensation they find Jack Wolfe. Teenage theater kids are incredibly into him.

I never cease to be amazed when some Reality TV star joins a show like Chicago and the grosses go crazy. Really amazes me that someone as talented as Kate Baldwin on the other hand hardly sells any tickets, based on the non-holiday grosses during her tenure.
If Just in Time has not recouped, wouldn't it be reasonable for one to question the competence of the producers? Grosses for almost an entire sold-out year based on incredibly steep ticket prices, with little likelihood of finding someone to replace their start attraction. (Clearly, they may have pulled one out of their hat on that one).

If people will just stop paying these terrorist prices, producers will stop charging them. Well over $300. Jesus Christ. PS - on Valentines Day, various shows I looked at were charging nearly $500 per ticket and idiots were paying for them.

I can imagine the producers asking Leavitt about the possibility of an extension. The Weisslers like the smell of money.

And still no word who's doing those three weeks in between Geoff and Jordan?
Cause the masses don’t know who Kate Baldwin is. Sad but true.

Jack is gonna be huge. I wonder if the N2N transfer will find second life with Jack proving to be a box office draw and Caissie very possibly winning a Tony...

I would much rather see Caissie win the Tony for NEXT TO NORMAL than for RAGTIME.

I know what you mean. I went to see Kate twice in Chicago and am eagerly awaiting her 54 Below show next month. Her 54 Below show last year was one of the best shows I think I have ever seen.

Not just teenage theater kids. He's truly sensational. I wish there was a possibility of a new Hadestown cast recording with his vocals.

I don't post here much anymore, but I thought I'd weigh in on this as I had an "a ha" moment recently while seeing "Mamma Mia." (I hadn't seen the show since 2001, and a theater loving friend had never seen it, so we went for the novelty.)
From my rear side orchestra seat, for which I paid an obscene (to me) ~$140, I was looking at all the "idiots" who paid upwards of $250 to sit in the center orchestra. I realized these folks (in their pink boas and rhinestone sunglasses) arent your day-to-day theater goers like us. They may be more inclined to see a concert at MSG where (depending on the artist) the first ring is easily a couple hundred bucks, and floor seats are generally over $1k. Last year I spent about $170 per ticket to be in the last row of the first ring for Kylie Minogue; Gaga is commanding $300+ to sit in the literal rafters.
For this demographic, shelling out $500 for a great seat to a Broadway show once or twice per year seems reasonable and unsurprising when you're used to spending the same in other places.

Caissie is excellent in Ragtime, so wouldn’t mind seeing her win a Tony for the role. Plus say Next to Normal were to transfer, she’d likely be up against Rachel in Evita and I don’t see Rachel losing if Evita comes over.
In some ways, it reminds me of Jonathan Groff being nominated back to back, but probably more deserving of a win for his role as Bobby Darin than his role as Franklin Shephard.
re: Just in Time recouping: I was told several months back that it was on track to recoup at the beginning of January. So perhaps they have simply not made any announcement. Not all shows make this type of announcement anymore, and they could perhaps just be waiting to say it on the last day of Groff's run to lump it in with a sort of celebratory send off.
Considering the pushing of the narrative of how hard it is to recoup and how few new shows have, I would think they’d want to yell it from the mountaintops the second it happens.

They’ll probably announce during the roadshow this spring. Didn’t they throw a pretty big presentation last year? Just in Time will sell like gangbusters in Florida; I’m sure the presenters down there are clamoring for it.

Not to mention the eventual cruise ship opportunities. The ships are getting bigger, and so are the shows. The advantage for this show on a cruise ship is there is no need to have a "star". I think this show could run for years with the right choice of venues. If they find the right star, it could have a life in Vegas. Groff did the heavy lifting to make it a profitable investment for the producers. Now it's time for them to explore other opportunities for the show, and there appear to be plenty.
