how much do these books usually go for? and what is this long river site please?
"wait..theres a phantom companion book?"
Two, actually.
There's "The Complete Phantom of The Opera" by George Perry which is a hardcover and includes background on Leroux and his novel, various film versions such as the Lon Chaney movie, the history of the musical, lots of pictures, and the libretto.
There was a companion book published when the 2004 movie was released and it's a poorly condensed version of the Perry book with a few photos from the movie tossed in, and a draft of the script that's worse than the movie.

I have Mamma Mia, Mary Poppins, Rent, Aida, Color Purple, and Hairspray. I also have scripts for Hairspray, Grey Gardens, Urinetown, and Light In The Piazza, as well as other books about BROADWAY.
Check your used bookstores too. I always see Rent, Sunset, and Miss Saigon books in great condition usually going for 10 bucks or less.
Why anyone would part with them is beyond me but that is how I have added several to my collection.
Gingersnap, I have that phantom book. (the movie one) It really is bad. every single detail is in the script:
[Camera pans over to feet stepping out of carriage]
[wide shot of opera house]
got really boring.
Brave Sir Robin, where did you get the Light in the Piazza script??

jaso937, it's nile.com.
The Producers which had a list of $40 I believe.I got it @ Barnes & Noble a few years ago for $ 12
All the ones I have are out of print practically, but if you go on Amazon and search for the books, there usually pretty cheap. I atually bought the Saigon one for $2.50 and the person also included a souvenir brochure signed by Lea Salonga as well as some ads and another picture-sheet signed by Lea Salonga. But yeah usually Amazon Marketplace or Ebay used is the way to go.
I will definitely be purchasing the Spring Awakening one when it is released

I hope the Spring Awakening book is as aesthetically pleasing and fun as the Wicked, Rent and Mary Poppins book!
I've only got a few: Aida, Hairspray, Wicked and Avenue Q. I want to get RENT, Color Purple among others but they aren't cheap! I may scour the used bookstore in the up-coming weeks.
Cheers,
Christopher

There's also one for Billy Elliot, a recently released one for The Lord of the Rings, the making of Chess, and though not necessarily a companion book, there is a storybook version of Into the Woods.
