Hey! I just got the Jersey Boys companion book. I loved it! It had the whole script, tons of interviews, and great picture. I also have the companions for Wicked, The Producers, and Hairspray. Does anyone know of any others that are out there?? I would really like to own them!

Les Miserables, Rent, Aida, Lion King, Avenue Q, and Phantom of the Opera are the ones I can think of right now.

Wicked has one too.

I want to apologize for some offensive messages posted on this board under my name. The night 0f 12-15-08 I did not have internet access, and someone had used my name to post something offensive. My avatar was also changed. I dont' know what else was posted, or if anyone recieved bad PMs, but I want to apologize for that. I've changed my password, and even though I was not the one posting these messages it still needed to be corrected.

They also have out-of-pint books for BEAUTY AND THE BEAST and SUNSET BOULEVARD.

Also, add TARZAN and MARY POPPINS to your list.

There's one for Cabaret (1998 revival) as well. Most of the ones for current shows are readily available in book stores.

I believe there was one for "Aspects of Love," too. I could be wrong, but I recall an old friend having a copy.

There's a Sound of Music one that basically deals with the entire history of it, including the movie.

I love the Cabaret book. Excerpts from Alan's diary while he did the show are in there.
I only own the RENT bible and The Grimmerie, which I gave away to my girlfiend anyway. I want the fuzzy Ave Q book desperately.

You're reminding me of people you hear at the movies asking questions every ten seconds, "Who is that? Why is that guy walking down the street? Who's that lady coming up to him? Uh-oh, why did that car go by? Why is it so dark in this theater?" - FindingNamo on strummergirl

"That's, like, twelve shows! ...Or seven." -Crazy SA Fangirl

"They say that just being relaxed is the most important thing [in acting]. I take that to another level, I think kinda like yawning and...like being partially asleep onstage is also good, but whatever." - Sherie Rene Scott

I just bought the Mary Poppins book from Amazon, and it's less than impressive..

My favorite has to be THE COLOR PURPLE

I love it cause it goes over how EACH song was written, costume and set design, CASTING, getting the show up and running, LOTS of pictures, AND the Libretto.

I was expecting a lot out of the mary poppins book...I hardly mentions the cast at all. And the way that people talked about it, like it gave away so many secrets of the TECHNICAL side of the show...well, it doesnt.

Edit*** Does it not bother anyone that these are called "companion" books...Is it because more than half the people buying them are gay? lol

aw, a spelling bee book would be wonderful, what with the history of the little show that could. It could go all the way back to C-R-E-P-E-S-C-U-L-E and all the original cast contributions to the book and such.

Spring Awakening seems like it should have one too.

I have the Miss Saigon, Phantom of the Opera, EVITA (1977?? Avon paperback with a misprint (it says: Lyrcist Andrea Lloyd Webber and Composer Tim Rice on the cover)), Les Miserables, one based on all the Lloyd Webber stuff up to Sunset, and the Sunset Boulevard one.

But I really wouldn't recommened the Sunset Boulevard one. It's really just a history of the movie, sketchs of the set, a few good pictures of the staircase and some pictures of Patti + Kevin Anderson, mentions a different L.A. production and gives the L.A. production script, but no pictures of that.
