I can’t believe it’s been a full year since those first performances of “Waitress” and “Hadestown”. Rewatching this video of the opening moments of Hadestown made me really tear up remembering those first moments back in a theatre again. And yes, I know “Pass Over” opened in August but it didn’t really feel like we were “back” until 9/2/21.
Just a moment in Broadway history I wanted to take note of today.
Thank you, Jordan, for this wonderful reminder. We have come so far in a year.
I’ll admit, I tear up sometimes reading the responses on my 9/2/21 reopening nights thread. I’m sure it was a highly emotional night for everyone that saw either of those shows.

When Broadway started to reopen, I really felt a sense of normalcy coming back. I watched every video of every show of their reopenings. I attended Come From Away's reopening performance. It was such a great feeling and such a momentous time for the arts to welcome theater back into everyone's lives.
Pass Over was the first show I saw back. An afternoon I will never forget.
Wow! Has it really been a year already? How time flies!

My first show back was Perfect Crime, which I will also not forget for different reasons.
My first show back was "Camp Morning Wood - TheMusical. Then "Merry Wives" and Fairycakes". My first Broadway show back was "Flying Over Sunset" and my second was "Mj - The Musical".
