If current rumors are to be believed:
We're waiting on houses for PROOF, GIANT, and JOE TURNER'S COME AND GONE, likely Shubert venues. WANTED is a question mark.
MAMMA MIA! and RAGTIME are supposedly looking to extend in New York.
I haven't heard anything yet regarding the Booth, Jones, Barrymore, and Music Box for next spring. (And that's to say nothing of the venues currently hosting open-ended runs that will free up in December / January.)
Will the Barrymore and Majestic stay dark this fall?

Yeah Dog Day Afternoon and Proof were announced for the spring. I think the Barrymore and Majestic will be dark for the fall. Hopefully something comes into the Nederlander, but who knows really

Circle in the Square will remain JUST IN TIME for the foreseeable future…

All I will say is I rid myself of perspiration months ago.

It’s closing at the end of Groff’s contract, unless he extends past January.

they'll get a new lead - not gonna close a hit show. lot of big names would jump at the chance to step into a hit role with the red carpet already laid out. and the billing is set up for it.

And plus it’s selling very very well

Any chance of Much Ado sliding in to one of the open ones ? Feel like it could sell well with Hiddleston and Atwell at least.

An option is they bring in a replacement for a few months and then Groff returns to close it out by June.

Would be nice to see Skylar Astin fill in for a few months.

I see your rumors and will add some....all rumors.
ATG won't have many slots, but has to look at a future where most of its shows are aging- Moulin Rouge, Hadestown, Book of Mormon are all long running hit shows with a natural slow down and Queen of Versailles is struggling to sell but it is too soon to count them out.
August Wilson was being held for Dolly but that is going back to the drawing board. They will either do a limited run play- Dog Day Afternoon is rumored - has great actors but they are not necessarily going to sell enough tickets for that house or they will find a musical to take a chance on. Benjamin Button?
St James - Queen of Versailles. Great star (I know what about Idina) and director. Bad vibes out of Boston for overly expensive sets and costumes and a storyline that seems a little tone deaf to the moment we are in. Arden and Chenowith are the sell. 25 million budget and high running costs are the downside. Let's see if excess sells this season.
Hudson - Fall will be Oedipus (MY BAD THIS IS GOING TO 54) with lots of buzz and great reviews. Both actors are powerful on stage let's see if they can sell tickets here. Spring will be another Seaview rotating star driven play. Seems to be a working formula for them.
Hirschfeld - Moulin is in the red but it is a global brand and can afford to stay. Spring would be great for a new musical in a classic house.
Nederlander also wont have many slots and has already committed to the spring to give shows a head start. They like ATG have booked long running shows for years now and never have much inventory.
Palace - Lost Boys. Cult film -- gossip says could be this year's SpiderMan but if they can reign in costs (Arden sets) could be a fun sleeper in a year of so few new musicals. Workshop played well. Ali and Cassie got great buzz from it.
Nederlander - All Out. All In did gang buster business. Let's see if they can do it again. If it doesn't extend look for a play or maybe a concert version of Schmigadoon if the numbers can be figured out.
Marriott - How long does Netflix want to keep losing money on a very cool but wildly expensive marketing ploy? Would need a big musical to take a swing.
Shuberts will once again have a ton of spring theaters to fill. This season they seem to be loading up on short run plays after a few seasons of overloading the market with musicals. Lots of moving pieces to their board.
Barrymore - Joe Turner if they can figure out a budget. They had been looking for a bigger house but insiders are not sure those stars warrant it. If they can't make the numbers work look for Proof or Dog Day Afternoon to take the booking.
Longacre - Two Strangers for the fall. Really cute interracial romance. Despite being a really affordable model it wasn't able to make money on West End or Boston. Let's see if Kevin can work his magic. If not look for a spring play or last minute musical booking - Goddess in the wings? 42 Balloons?
Broadhurst - Cute Muppets in fall into spring Jellicle Ball- if they can figure out their finances. Shifting to traditional stage craft and broadway union numbers are proving a challenge. Probably need to decide soon as that is a big house and any new musical would need time to raise and cast. Could also have Proof as a back up here. Same producer.
Majestic - Purple Rain is booked. Rumored to be over 30 million with no stars. Prince is a huge star and draw. Let's see how the out of town does. This is a really respected producing/creative team so there is a lot of excitement. The big question mark is the movie as source material - domestic violence plot and the songs don't drive story.
James Earl Jones - Liberation in fall for a well earned broadway turn. Spring is rumored to be Wanted from the producers of How To Dance in Ohio. Also rumored that the producers are pushing hard for the Shubert and seem to have pull with the powers that be - so despite poor sales out of town they might end up in the prize Shubert theater. 23 million budget.. Great voices. Messy book. Weird lawsuit. A lack of new musicals could help this show.
Imperial - Chess for fall. Selling well. Nice stunt casting. Seems like this is on track.
Music Box - Giant. Controversial but undeniable. Lithgow will be a Tony front runner as will the play. No idea if it will be box office gold.
Winter Garden - Seems like they were gambling on Evita and it is not coming in. Mamma Mia can not extend. Wonder if they will chase Dolly even after a disaster out of town?
Shubert - HK seems to be slowing down. Another big house. Looks like Chorus Line. Yet another revival this season- but a good one!
Golden - Mincemeat seems to be holding. Might be a last minute spring opening. Could be play or small musical.
Independents
Ragtime - Lots of love. Great cast and a classic. Season is heavy on racial storylines but this feels like it is hitting all the right notes. If it extends does Cassie stay or go to Lost Boys?
Studio 54 Rocky Horror - If it is Cole and Sam it seems like a home run. If not Cole it is another strong positive gender fluid show this season and should do well. Seems like the only light hearted show to be found.
Circle in the Square - Big question mark. How long will Groff stay - massive hit and he seems to be having a ball. Not sure he is replaceable but it is worth a try. If not this should go to Jellicle. Despite ALW wanting a traditional presentation.

Intriguing. One note - Oedipus is going to Studio 54.

There's likely going to be a short extension before it heads back out on the road. It's strictly a stop on it's tour.
RAGTIME has an extension build in to their contracts.

It's going on tour with the same cast starting in March.

I’d love to see this slide in this year, if the schedules of the stars allow. I’ve heard nothing but rapturous things.

I’d love to see that. Hiddleston would be a good draw too.
