what do you think they're looking for in the people auditioning? do you think they want the teen chorus to truly be teens, or do you think they will cast people in their 20s? and how difficult is the dancing in this show?

For an audition for Ursula, I'd think Little Girls from Annie would be good.

I think she meant Bye Bye Birdie's Ursula, aka Kim's buddy. Not Little Mermaid's Ursula, in which case "Little Girls" would be a fabulous audition piece!

I think they're looking for singers who dance really well. The dancing for Bye Bye Birdie will probably more than step touch jazz hands.

imatoofbrush, One Night With you seems sounds more "Grease"-like than BBB...at least to me...but it could work

What do you guys think of "Too Close for Comfort" from Mr. Wonderful? Or what about an Elvis song? Would that be appropriate for the teen chorus?

What about It's Love from Wonderful Town?

I would love to audition for this, but I'm not close enough to get there early. Ah well. I'm probably not a good enough dancer for this show.
I am a firm believer in serendipity- all the random pieces coming together in one wonderful moment, when suddenly you see what their purpose was all along.

I didn't think the dance for this show would be crazy...

ah, very true star2be. im gonna flip through my rep book tonight but i just got the call from my agent today for tomorrow afternoon so i gotta act fast! my friend actually played last week for the audition and just said not to let the genre confine your choice, and to be ready to sing a ballad cause they asked a lot of belters to sing something slow and perty. so well see!

So would it be safe to bring a belty song and a slower song?
I'm thinking of bringing Alone in the Universe from Seussical & It's Love from Wonderful Town.
Thoughts?

I heard that if they don't find what they want in NY they are going to Orlando,Chicago and LA.

I wonder how many teens they are looking for to comprise the ensemble!

For those of you wondering if the audition is "worth" attending I'd suggest going. Go and be seen. Theatre jobs aren't growing on trees these days and if you feel you're a fit for the show you shouldn't let the opportunity pass. Open call or no open call. It could end up being totally "worth" it.

I agree with Eris. And I always have to scratch my head when someone asks, "will it be worth it to audition?" You really have to decide that for yourself....BUT I always say, "You can't win if you don't enter!"

Would you think it would be appropriate for a 14 year old boy, turning 15 in exactly a month to audition. (although he looks ALOT younger than he is). I was hoping to audition, as I would love to be Randolph.
