Come from Away most definitely had their performance tonight.

Everyone shouldn't be tested when they arrive at their theater. They should be tested in the morning of their performance. Last minute cancellations suck for everyone.

So they’re cancelling because of one positive covid test?

It turned out that the info I was given wasn’t entirely correct. I’m curious to know whether there was any bar or merchandise though.

The bars were fully staffed, but there was no merchandise.

That’s what I thought. Certain factions of the show did stop operating then, which is why me and others were sent home.

They could've told the audience 2 hours before the show. Goodness me.
The Al Hirschfeld Theatre team seems to lack preparedness though? Myself and a friend walked by the theater and there was one of their theater team members (Might have been an usher) screaming at people in the line.

Well, it was a surprise to the Covid supervise, too.

Question: Has anyone had any luck during Covid getting pre-paid unrefundable hotel (Hilton specifically) reservations canceled and refunded? I’m kicking myself now for trying to save a little money by going unrefundable.

I wanna be doubtful toward a Diana closure because they are closing soon anyway? So I doubt they'll close shop on their last dates.

Just what everyone else was asking: "is there a merch person here tonight?" No one on staff knew why there was no merchandise tonight.

Wow...this slow bleed of shut down trickle is nerve wrecking...as stated in a previous post we are coming from Los Angeles on 12/24 and leaving 1/1. We booked 7 shows already, careful not to overlap show that will be touring in LA that we already have tickets for.
We have the following:
12/25-Swining Birdland Christmas
12/25 Night-Music Man
12/26-Matinee Kimberly Akimbo
12/26-Night American Utopia
12/28-Night Company
12/29-Matinee To Kill a Mockingbird
12/30- Matinee Jagged Little Pill
Hoping to get Girl from North Country and Flying Over Sunset tickets in person. I think if we had to miss any of the above shows Music Man would be a total heartbreak as we were planning to come in April 2020. I guess we shall see. Fingers crossed!

Thanks! Yeah there seems to have been a communication breakdown in who was and was not coming I guess

Trip scheduled on Sunday for Diana and Doubtfire. Bought Kimberly to replace Doubtfire this afternoon. Hotel canceled just in case since I don't care where I stay, if it actually happens.

I don’t think it’s actually a choice, they’re required to do it.

I mean the cast of Diana has less than a week left at the Longacre. I hope they get to enjoy it. (But who knows?)

Me! But I didn’t get it refunded because of a covid issue though. I was supposed to go to Louisiana 6 weeks after Hurricane Ida hit. The hotel in NOLA provided reasons that they would issue a refund, one of which was to provide proof of a declared disaster area. Well, President Biden declared LA as such and I provided that documentation to them but the hotel wouldn’t budge. The hotel wouldn’t refund based on their own terms OR honor Biden’s declaration OR the Governor’s State of Emergency which is ongoing. Long story short, I pointed out to Hilton corporation that the hotel was in violation of a section outlined in the State of Emergency and Hilton quickly issued a refund check.

Concerning for the theater community
As Virus Cases Surge, New Yorkers Feel a Familiar Anxiety
Vaccinated residents who had embraced a return to some normalcy are unsettled: “It’s scary — it feels like we’ve been here before.”

So Radio City finally gets on the bandwagon! Unfortunately, they still allow you to be unmasked inside the theatre! (according to their website)

Thanks Adotburr. Guess I’ll just have to wait & see then. Btw, I know you said you had an Amtrak voucher that was expiring soon. I know a lot of airlines/hotels are extending benefits during Covid. Maybe Amtrak would too?

This is all so crazy.
I'm confused from a Covid stand-point, have they dropped the whole quarantining thing? Like, if I'm in Phantom and get a positive test, am I out of the show for a day? Like, I guess, I'm confused by shutting down for just one show. What does that solve? And not being snarky, just asking from a protocol standpoint.
