I agree. I had friends who were going to come visit me over NYE weekend here in NYC but cancelled last week after the surges. In the news they said they expect another surge here in NYC 3 days after New Years Day due to all the parties.

I would also advise those who are planning to fly to NYC that airlines have been cancelling some flights due, at least in part, to unavailability of crews because of Covid. A friend last week had to reschedule his morning flight from Southern California to Chicago to an afternoon flight. Then, his return flight on December 30th was cancelled and this time he wasn't able to book another flight until the following day. Just something to consider. Good luck.

Not sure if he had since left the cast again or if he or one of the other covers was simply not available for the matinee."
Caleb was not on last night. He was meant to be, but posted on his instagram story yesterday morning that he had tested positive. Travis Ward-Osborne made his debut as Santiago last night."
Ah, interesting. Having just looked up Travis, I see you're correct. The cast list in my Playbill listed Caleb as being on for Santiago, and no announcement was made. I could have sworn Caleb's name was also listed on the understudy board in the lobby, but there were a ton of names, so I may be conflating that with the Playbill slip.
I'm supposed to see Assassins tomorrow. This is a real nail-biter. They already cancelled on me once - I was supposed to go to one of the performances that got cancelled the week of Christmas.
People saying "this is ridiculous. This makes no sense. What's the difference between today at tomorrow?" I completely agree with you. But obviously there's SOME reason they cancelled today but not tomorrow. Do we have any thoughts as to what the reason might be? Is it that they want to test people after New Years? What could the actual, logistical reason be?
Basically, I'm trying to gage my expectations for whether my performance tomorrow is likely to be cancelled. Though I'm already mentally preparing for the worst.
I was supposed to see the Mockingbird matinee today. At 1:30, someone came out of the theater and told everyone on line that the matinee was cancelled. No other explanation given. They handed out sheets of paper with instructions on how to get a refund but I noticed Telecharge emailed me at 1:37pm with the option to refund or exchange. I chose the refund. Just my luck for not seeing Jeff Daniels sooner. The only other matinees were Flying Over Sunset and MJ. I didn't want to chance going up to Lincoln Center with less than 30 min until curtain and I'm not sold on MJ yet. I was hoping to visit The Drama Book Shop but it was closed for the holiday. So, I went home. A waste of a train ticket to the city.
If anyone is interested, I did walk by the Broadhurst and there is a sign on the door that says the Majestic is handling box office refunds for Jagged Little Pill.
Other than that, I had a friend in town all week and we were able to see 6 shows. We initially planned on 8. We saw Company, The Book of Mormon, Come From Away, Wicked, Mrs. Doubtfire, and Dear Evan Hansen. Zachary Noah Piser was on for Jordan Fisher in the show we saw on Wednesday evening. Aside from Come From Away, all of the shows had less than 5 understudies/standbys on.

Since coming back from their long Omicron pause, Moulin Rouge! has had a noticeable on-again, off-again schedule for the last several weeks... and that's not a good sign.
I just bought tickets for the matinee for Company tomorrow and now I see that Pattie is out tonight. Telecharge customer service closes at 8pm. Does anyone know if I will be able to get a refund if I call tomorrow morning? I really want to see Pattie and assume that if she is out tonight, she will probably miss tomorrow as well. I appreciate any info you can provide. Thank you.

I was at MJ this afternoon. A fantastic, high energy show with some AMAZING dancing!!! I wish you’d chanced it!!!
If she is out for matinee tomorrow, you will get an email from telecharge before the show. That's what they did the first weekend of December when she was out. You will have the option for a refund.

They won't let you do a refund until it is confirmed she will be out.

Where did you see that she's out? People posting on twitter seem to be seeing her tonight."
I’m at the show now (intermission) - Patti is out. They made an announcement right before curtain to let us know Anisha would be on instead of Patti. The slip in the programme does list Patti, but it’s incorrect. Presumably she called out at the last minute.

Was Mockingbird cancelled tonight? Hearing different reports.
